That sux for Aussie. Are PS3 games regionalized though?

SERIOUSLY, get F.U.C.K.E.D. all you stupid dumb f.u.c.k. Australian Censorship Committee (whatever)!!!  They are taking away the rights of the MAJORITY!! 

Most of the people who first played the GTA series are by now well over the age of 18, and most of the consumer who will be getting this on either consoles will most likely be over 18 y.o.!!! 

IF/When we do get a 18+ Rating for games down here, I truly hope R* releases a patch for us to unleash whatever has been censored!!!  Dam.n Australia, not only do we games as late as EU...but we also pay almost double of the US prices!

 

Oh BTW, what exactly will they be censoring/bleeping/pixelate or just complete cut out of the game?????

Its about time the Australian Censorship Committee update their rating system, this is bullsh!t.  Now I want to know whats been cut.  Still this was expected as they banned GTA 3 and San Andreas, not sure about Vice City

If I hadnt already reserved my special edition copy (getting it for $100!) i'd cancel and import... but, dont have much of a choice. This sucks... BIG TIME. An R+ rating couldnt come soon enough

Surely the Australians can import the PS3 version from the UK? PS3 games (so far) have been region free. Not sure about the Xbox 360 version...

I'll be importing this now.  Screw the Australian game retail industry and all the other people who could have stood to make profits from all the Ausies (like me) who now will pass the profits over to Asia (Hong Kong/China).  

I will not tolerate my games being gimped because the Australian gaming industry fail to bandee together enough to get something done about our "Super Gay" rating system.          Lets show sex, violence, drugs and such in tv shows like Underbelly at 8.30pm on Wednesday night, but ban content from a damn animated looking videogame that shows nothing really (like with the car rocking in GTA3).    Pathetic...I love this country of Aus, but seriously, some of it's inhabitants need to be shot with a compressed ball of their own sh1t!!

IMPORTING GAMES is an option to take when censorships get in the way (that includes Manhunt2), limited editions that don't make it to other regions or it's a full Japanese game.........but, ATTENTION to all readers.....it is NOT THE ANSWER!  Instead, we all need a permanent resolution!  And fast! It's no wonder the Australian economy is starting to dive and the Australian Made market is diminishing....more and more of everything is becoming imported or made abroad! And that's because it's cheaper and in most cases the quality is much better from Europe and Japan!!!  Plus, slowly but quickly, the US and Europe are taking over the Australian companies! AND maybe eventually our Governments!

It shouldn't be too big of aproblem. If it is, then just import. The dollar is weak as he-ll, so you will probably save some money, even with shipping costs included.

MatrixSixacxis  .   you are living proof of why we need these laws . also you are an idoit america does not get game for half the price of us it is called an exchange rate  . i dont know the exchange brate exactly  but when  they were paying 600 us dollars for their ps3  it was the same as when we were paying 1000 for ours  same price diffent number is that so hard to understand.  There is justified reasoning for this becuase a  game rateed R or 18+ is likley to fall into the hands of any 15  year old or even 7 year old who wants it. at least with the 15 year maxiumum litle kids cant get anything worse then whats suitable for a 15 year  old.

 

PS the anger shown by so many of you over such a noval matter proves that mabye even 15+ is too high. grow up abit and mabye you will be trusted with these titles

in france were lucky enough not to have games banned but i had to pre-order my gta4 collector in the states coz no one heres is making it possible to do so, thank god ps3 games arn't region locked and hope it stays that way

Secondly 1.2, as regularly check on finances and currencies I do believe I have a good understanding of AU currency vs US$ vs Pounds vs Euros.  I must highlight that you are young imbicile who doesn't have a clue about the world outthere as you are just a 'freshman' who may not even be attending university (college)! 

Even since the launch of the PS3 a year ago (Aus), and our dollar inflating steadily above 90cents per US$1....the conversion rate of $600US is still and has been (for the past year) well under $700AU!!! And nowhere near $1000AU!  PAL region consoles have nothing to do with the US market as they're made in Asia anyway, although our AU$ is stronger in the majority of the Asian currencies (if not all).  So after all the fee and taxes and whatever...the $300 price difference from the US still doesn't justify why our prices are compared to them and not the Asian market?!?  (US PS3 are probably also manufactured in Asia aswell).

 

Thirdly, it's you who needs to grow up and know that real facts!  Unless you live in the desert somewhere in the Nullabar plain, I'll have to assume you've held a porno magazine before you turned 18yo and that you don't know anybody under 18yo or yourself who have either encountered a PORN SITE on the net or Googled some for yourself!!! 

 

You don't need to be 18yo to gain access to porn, you don't even have to go out of the house to download one and watch it at your discretion!  No officials have control of these real matters! 

And for games, if they're R18+ rated then there's a chance you could be asked for ID when purchasing it (due to your 'crater face'!).  Even if you get an adult to get the game, you'd still be making an effort to do so....as opposed to downloading porn on the net anytime, day or night!

 

(PS. I am not condoning illegal downloads or porn for that matter.....it's just REAL FACTS! That's reality for you! Smell the coffee and not the hash!).  As the Americans would say "YOU JUST GOT OWNED!!!"   In you face biaaatch!

Wow, that sure is going to upset a lot of Australian gamers. I guess they'll be buying imported versions of the game to get the "full" GTA4 experience.

psn id: gingo.... australian classification authorities really need to get a grip of their lives and sort out this mess that 15+ is the highest rating, there will always be a need for at least 18+ and i cant see why they are not adding that as a classification

Anyone know if this also applies to New Zealand? I don't think theirs is censored but just wanted to know for sure so I can order it from there. Unfortunately we live in a backward country run by a bunch of out of touch rednecks.
