Following on from a rather successful 2008, the organisers of Leipzig's annual Game Convention have set themselves a goal of bringing the event to a North American audience, filling the huge former-E3 shaped hole in the current summer schedule.
“The concept is flexible and the network of the global games industry permits us to be active at different locations," said Leipziger Messe boss Wolfgang Marzin. "After the Southeast Asian Games Convention, we are now focusing on the North American market."
No details have been forthcoming just yet, with Marzin also keen to emphasise that the Leipzig event would remain a part of the calendar into 2009, giving European players something to look forward to.
Hopefully this will force the ESA into coming up with something good for E3 2009.
