British actor Gary Oldman is to play the part of a Russian sergeant in Treyarch’s forthcoming Call of Duty: World at War, the company announced today during its press conference at the Leipzig Games Convention.
A diverse performer, Oldman shot to fame for his role in the 1992 adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and has since gone on to assume a number of high profile roles in films including Leon: The Professional, The Fifth Element, True Romance, as well as numerous appearances in the Harry Potter and Batman series.
Call of Duty: World at War takes place during the Pacific theatre of World War II and introduces four-player cooperative online play for the first time in the series, in addition to a number of other features, including the ability to swim and unlock multiple paths throughout each mission.
World at War will be released on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 this November.
