Gearbox Software has released a new gameplay trailer showing off the technical prowess of Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway's destructible cover. No longer will enemies be safe behind wooden fences or sand bag walls as simple machine gun fire or the toss of a grenade will obliterate anything standing inbetween you and your enemy.
Check out the trailer below:
IGN reports that the developers at Gearbox Software did run into some obstacles when adding destructible surfaces to the game.
"It forced AI programmers to create code so enemy and friendly soldiers alike will know when their cover has been torn down and to move to a fresh piece. Then there's the physics engine which needed to be re-worked to allow for the massive amount of particles that a splintering wooden fence creates while still keeping the rest of the on-screen action fluid and realistic."
From the looks of it, Gearbox has done a great job and we are eager to get our hands on this title when it ships in August.

this is an xbox 360 gameplay vid...
xbox 360 or PS3 vid. The game will look the same. I'm sure developers are past that point with bad ports.
well im not so sure about that m8, will have to wait and see but i was honestly expecting a lot more form this game it looks alright not fantastic but not bad either and the destructability is nice but could have been better.
wow.. That acctualy looks like alot of fun.
For a WW2 game after COD4 this looks pretty good
This game will be great fun and a must buy, cant wait.
It looks cartoony.
The video isn't obviously from any version, PSU are just using the wrong platform link. It's on IGN PS3. On IGN's PS3 podcast a couple months back they had Randy Pitchford I think from Gearbox and he said the game was starting to look better on PS3 so they had to shift staff over to the 360 version. The PS3 naturally outputs a more attractive looking picture/colour according to him, too.
It does look a little cartoony... the textures are amazing but the colors are not realistic.
psn id: gingo... the cartoony look kind of differentiates it from other games of this genre and the destructablity looks good
looks pretty good and solid frames
WOW! Starting to get excited about this one now : )
looking forward to this badboy
its cool that you get to fite in houses and stuff unlike the other war games wich u fite in broken up citys
