Giant FFXIII ads promise 2010 release in North America

Usually we don't get our news from the sides of buildings, but today is an exception.

A series of massive, building-side Final Fantasy XIII ads have been plastered in downtown Los Angeles, and posted on a blog on Square Enix's Members website. While it's nice to see Lightning, Snow, and Vanille overlooking the happenings in L.A., it's even nicer to see an official release window for North America, even if it's simply "2010." Considering it's arriving this year in Japan, we'd expect the usual six-month transition period to the U.S. and Canada, meaning it should arrive in the earlier half of the year.

If you want to see the massive ads for yourself, we've included them below.

    Wow! /sarcasm

I don't see what the big deal is.  Does anyone get that?  2010 is still a fair bit away from now!  Not to mention, we now have to share this game and wait for it to be done on the 360.  As far as I'm concerned, it won't be out until the end of 2010 which means next year's holiday season at the closest!  I'm not looking forward to this game like I once was!  It's not fair that we have to wait for ports while 360 users always get their versions of games first thus getting timed exclusivity!  I don't think it's fair either that we have to wait for this game to be done on the 360 before anyone gets it.  I hope Square Enix goes bankrupt for lying to us PS3 owners for over three years.

well i agree wit¡h @12 and 16 tell us something new, this is getting old and i was really looking foward for this game now well the interest has gone down. This can even end up being released in december 2010 as things are going (it even hasnt gone gold in japan), come on weve seen info about this game even before the ps3 was out. And let me tell you something, creating that much expectations and at the same time creating that much disappointment over and over again (release date being delayed, going multiplatfrom) really is going to make the game suffer in the long run. And i agree with @18 too, what we end up always seeing the xbox logo instead of sonys come on this moves tho they are little they really end up affecting the sonys market!!!

All the FF fans are going to say I'm a fanboy bitter about this going multi but I can honestly say from what I've seen, heard and played I'm not excited for this game anymore. Up until I played the demo I was going to import the Japanese version post haste. I was even willing to over look Shiva transforming into a motorcycle.

Hope it sells well on both systems though. More money for Sony. ;)

who cares!! why should we give this backstabbing company our hard earned money! should have been out last year greedy square enix. I'm happy that stupid company lost money in their fiscal year they deserve for lying to us and ignoring their true fanbase for a bunch of wannabes.

i can't believe nobody wrote this...

this is nothing but a gimmick to promote the game for E3 in two weeks. why even start to build up hype for a game that's coming out in 12 months tops. mainly with a game that have hype already all this is to build up hype for 360 i wouldn't be surprise to find out microsoft paid for this buildboard. I'll bet money at E3 SE/MS show 360 FFXIII  for there presentation. Square-Enix can take FFXIII and shove it up there A** but they can show FFXIII Versus.

    @ Comment 26 the Narutard

Theres a site for people like you, its called N4G. Go take your Sony fanboy love over there, because console wars is srs business. It's pathetic when people show so much love to a company and more specifically a GAMES CONSOLE. It's a game for crying out loud, they exist for enjoyment.

Don't forget to make love to your PS3 whilst you remember all the tears, suffering and sleepless nights S-E have caused you.

    The ads rule :D

    @28

I'm on this site because i have a PS2, PS3 and PSP and nothing else, otherwise i would be on a multiplat site

It's just kinda pathetic when people post comments like that on an article about a video game advertisment........

If it really hurts peoples feelings that much make a youtube blog about it and don't forget the tissues when the tears start coming for extra drama.

@ 25: Hmm, sorry to dissapoint you but Square-Enix has not lost money this fiscal year, their bottom line was $67 millions profits. You are probably mistaken them for some other gaming company with a name starting with "S". Like Sega or Sony, these two have posted losses.

If Sony are wise, this ad should be for their platform.

Stop crying about the 360 version! If you`ve read some articles consindering the dev of FFXIII you should know the real problem is the PS3, yes cry-boys the PS3 has its short commings as well, espessially regarding the video/grafix output of the PS3.

    Anyway nice add btw ;)

To be real with you. With games like MAG and Heavy Rain, MW2 and games I like NCAA 10 and whatever other games some of you guys play coming out late this year, it might be best that the game comes out in 2010. It will be in the line up of games in 2010. I think that they will FF VSwill sell more on the PS3 over FF13.
