SEGA has announced that upcoming slash ‘em up Golden Axe: Beast Rider will hit UK shores on October 17, 2008.
Due for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Beast Rider takes the form of a prequel to the Golden Axe saga, with SEGA commenting, "Players will discover events that took place before the original storyline as Tyris Flare, the famous half-Gladiator/half-Barbarian heroine, begins the epic quest to avenge her tribe.”
Golden Axe first appeared on the Sega Mega Drive (or Sega Genesis, to our friends across the pond) in 1989, and went on to popularise the 2D side-scrolling genre throughout the early 1990s.

There's alot of games now comin out with that, EGGBOX EXCLUSIVE crap. Cant beat Microsoft when it comes to the money.
Which make sme wonder why Apple haven't done some sort of bid with Sony to do some work together? iTunes for the Ps3? Saves Sony the bother of starting a new Music Download part to the store, saves them the legal crap, and time, and resources....
But then again, I could be wrong. Whatever.

I played the original at the arcade and I bought and played the XBLA vesion of the game. It looks pretty good but I im going to do what Shader is doing and just wait see what its all about then decide. Theres alot of good PS3 games coming out thats going to take my money. lol
another hack and slash to add to my ps3 collection. i just wish they let us pick another character, they not been true to the orginal golden axe
I like others loved the original.
But no Dwarf, Guy and most importantly no AXE? I guess time will tell. Seriously though no AXE?
should of made it 2d again or in the style of devil may cry,that would be be a sucess then,another classic ruined i think,now wheres streets of rage and battletoads.
Hope a demo comes out in the PS Store at some point.
