Rumor: Splinter Cell: Conviction coming to PS3?The Golden Joystick Awards is one of the most prestigious gaming award ceremonies worldwide. Some consider the awards to be the "People's Awards," leaving out the politics of gaming. In this 26th annual Golden Joystick Awards, as always, the winners are chosen strictly by gamers. This year, a ton of PlayStation titles have been nominated for various awards. We've included them below.
The Sun Family Game of the Year: Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Rock Band, LEGO Indiana Jones, Ratchet & Clank Future and The Simpsons.
Bliss Handheld Game of the Year: LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Crisis Core: FFVII, God of War: COO and Patapon.
Nuts All Nighter: Team Fortress 2, Burnout Paradise, Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto IV and Rock Band.
One to Watch Award: Call of Duty: World at War, Final Fantasy XIII, LittleBigPlanet and Resident Evil 5.
Online Game of the Year: Team Fortress 2, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, Call Of Duty 4 and UT3.
PlayStation Game of the Year: Rock Band, Assassin's Creed, Burnout Paradise, Call of Duty 4, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Devil May Cry 4, God of War: CoO, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Grand Theft Auto IV, Guitar Hero III, Haze, Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Ultimate Game of the Year: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Portal, Burnout Paradise, Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, GTA IV and MGS4.

i wonder why Haze is up for a game of the year award, its dead, face it!
They;re even putting up free game packs on the PSN to try and revive it.

psn id: gingo... my predictions for these are.... Family game - Rock Band, Handheld game - god of war COO, One to Watch - LBP, Online game - COD4, Playstation game - MGS4, Ultimate GOTY - MGS4, Most Wanted - Resi Evil 5... dnt really know about the All Nighter one but i reckon it will prob be GTA4

Rock band gets family game of the year, GoW for handheld game, CoD4 for the all nighter, LittleBigPlanet for one to watch, Online game of the year probably Call of Duty 4, MSG4 gets ultimate and PS game of the year, and Fallout 3 is most wanted.

why the h*ll is quake wars nominated for anything. it was good on pc but not worth game of the year and on the ps3 it sucked a*s so i dont get that.
omg its obvious which game is gonna win PLAYSTATION GAME OF THE YEAR award. MGS4. Hands down. But not saying heavenly sword, ratchet & clank, dmc4, gta 4 or any other nominated game were bad tho, they all deserved the nom. Well except HAZE. Ugh, that game disappointed many of us.
Interesting... Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - a game that OPM described as "a mattress stain" - is up for Ultimate Game of the Year?

If MGS4 doesnt win everything it is nominated for then people are on drugs.
I have no clue why Quake wars was nominated but oh well. Metal Gear should be the game of the year easily. That game's character development makes FF characters look bad. Love the series and I do hope there is another somehow. :)

I think there should be one game per award.
@20 these are only the nominations, not the games that won the awards. Thus, in the end, there will be only one game per award.

Family Game: Rock Band
Handheld Game: Hopefully Crisis Core, but will prolly go to GOW
All Nighter: Should go to GTA4 or Rock Band
One to Watch: Will definatly go to LBP, although I don't know why everyone loves to watch grass grow...
Online GOTY: Gotta be COD4
PGOTY: Should be GTA4 or Rock Band, but will probably go to MGS4, even though that game, and all the others before it, sucked donkey b alls
UGOTY: Hopefully GTA4, but again, might be the garbage that is MGS4, I traded it in the same day I bought it
Most Wanted: Should have been FF XIII Vurses or RB2 or Resistance 2 or Killzone 2, but with that selection, gotta go with RE5, even though the game totally sux
@23 Your taste in games is pretty bad. GTA didnt live up to the hype and thanks to little old MGS4 the PS3 has been outselling the 360 every month. :)

Well I've bought a lot of the bigger titles and to be honest they all completely sucked - most of them plagued with poor control schemes and iffy port-ness, I've not had nearly as much fun with any of them as I do with WarHawk. I've yet to play a top title that lives up to this one for longivity, variety, DLC, mayhem, difficulty or ease depending,shear pleasure not to mention ribbons badges and now trophies.
None of these nominees I feel came even close to this quality of game. But then again I still have to buy MGS4
if only MGS4 had more gameplay....then i think no game would be able to stand up to it.
