Grand Theft Auto IV bundle details for Europe

Posted on April 7th, 2008 at 13:10 EDT

Europe seems to be scoring a lot of sweet PlayStation 3 bundles as of late and this one is definitely no exception to that.  It seems that they will be enjoying a Grand Theft Auto IV bundle that will include the 40GB PS3 and a copy of the game.  The first image of the bundle came from a Swedish website entitled Webhallen.com.

The bundle is expected across the majority of Europe and is expected to cost €399.99 (£299.99).  With Grand Theft Auto IV set to release wordlwide on April 29, it is expected to help sell a lot of consoles for both companies.  This bundle is a clear indicator of the success they expect the game to have within the market.

We're sure a lot of preorders will be made for this bundle as the previews start to pop up on the internet over the next couple of days.  If the estimated pricing becomes confirmed, we'll keep you up to date within this article.

If SONY knows what's good for them they'll do something similar in NA too.

Wow. Sony really knows what they are doing by having the Metal Gear Solid 4 bundles and GTA4 bundles. The Playstation 3 has been selling well in Europe anyways, and this bundle is just going to push PS3 sales through the rooof in Europe.

I have to agree with PSU Member: Phantasmn on this one. Sony really needs to have this bundle in North America as well. Sony could have a 40GB PS3 bundle that includes GTA4, and  of course, the 80GB PS3 bundled with MGS4 is already on the way and if Sony had those 2 bundles in the U.S., the Xbox 360 would be left behind.

Microsoft paid $50 million for downloadable content, but Sony is doing the right thing by bundling GTA4 with the actual game system because that's going to sell more consoles than just downloadable content.

Very nice. I'm confident Sony will benifeit more with Grand Theft Auto IV. Im not sure much people care about the 360`s exclusive content (Ahem.. which they must buy, lol) This month will be a great month for Sony, and its customers. New store, GTA IV.. ahh heaven eh?

if it's not already included in the bundle, they really need to add the DS3 if they know what's good for them. GTA is def a game that "needs" rumble and the DS3 is release 2nd of May while this bundle 29th of April. Hopefully they added the DS3 to the bundle, not only cus of rumble but the sixaxis is really cheap..

Hopefully this will help GTAIV to sell a boatload of PS3s to new people. I'm sure this bundle would look very very interesting to any current PS2 owners who like GTA.

GTAIV will probabyl sell more copies on the 360 due to the install base, but i think it should sell more PS3 units.

wow that is really good thinking on sony part that just sucks for the 50million dollars that microsort gave R* for "exclusive episodic content" that no one has heard anything about besides those three words not only that but you have to pay for it....thats what sony meant as when people think GTA they think sony cause thats where GTA home is..

how many people who dont already have a console will go out and buy a 360 then buy GTA when they can buy a ps3 with GTA with it "not including a blue-ray player" If I was a human clock i would say that its almost time for someone to get fired over at microsoft for poor strategic skills....in my IMO

This is really sweet, what a chop to the Microsoft knees. You will see many more bundles from Sony, especially here in the USA. They need to keep bundles fresh and not so longstanding like Motorstorm. I'd get this bundle if, 1) Lived in Europe, 2) Came with Dualshock 3, 4) At least 80gigs. Oh well, my waiting is starting to payoff.

Man SonyUK/EU knows how to anhilate the 360, man this is going to sell like crazy, and NEEDS to be brought to the US. Then there needs to be a FFXIII in EU, NA, and Japan!

As people associate the GTA franchise with the Playstation brand I think in Europe that the gamewill sell more on PS3 than 360 and many PS2 gamers have yet to jump aboard. Having this PS3 GTA bundle will help sell more GTA IV games on the PS3 not only that the game will push PS3 consoles and help many PS2 gamers upgrade to a PS3.
