Guerilla Games: no downloadable co-op for Killzone 2

According to Co-founder and Managing Director of Guerrilla Games Hermen Hulst, Killzone 2 will not be receiving co-op as downloadable content.

"We looked at all the different flavors of co-op early on, but decided our first priority would have to be the single-player experience and the multiplayer," Hulst informed Game Informer. "Rather than just tack on co-op, it would have to be integrated and done to a similar standard as the single and multiplayer."

"Having looked at it again now. I do not think we would want to add it as DLC," he said.

It appears that this is the final word on co-op for Killzone 2. For those looking forward to the new downloadable maps, Sony has confirmed the release date for April 30. The price point for the pack in currently unknown.

To be honest, I never saw this game having co-op, unlike many other people. I think the multiplayer is addicting enough.

well that kinda sucks, i really think this game could shine if co-op was added. single player is great but if multiplayer is so important, doesnt co-op fall under that category?

what if Resident Evil 5 was pure single player, and multiplayer(slaver/survivor) WHAT THEN

in this game, the player is always with other soldiers against the helghast, it would have been cool

in my opinion co-op would ruin killzone 2 experience,so it`s better without it,all those who say that killzone 2 is not good are completely insane

What this game really needs is more guns and levels to rank up to. It would also be great if there was an option to turn off the orange glowing eyes and blue lights to add the need of actual skill to play this game. But ya it looks nice...

This is actually the only reason a lot of my freinds are not picking up this game, I already have it but co-op multiplayer should definatly be integrated.

why are everyone complains about need co-op in killzone 2? meh! what a baby! go play R2 or something! KZ2 rocks! im happy with new two maps! two maps are awesome but train map is so bang! im still playing on KZ2 multiplayer. COD4 is too dry for me.

all of you need to have faith in GG because they will probably add co-op in Killzone 3! KZ3 ll come out in 2011. watch me!

GREAT news co op is a feature we dont need in games splitscreen skirmish is sumthing that would be highly wanted tho i have no need to sit donw a play through a campaign with a friend res 2 co op was the only one i  enjoyed as it gave background info and was nvr exactly the same as the last playthrough

i think this game is awesome as is.... the homies will have to wait..... I dont like COD and I think KZ2 kills it by a long shot..... but i would like more maps and more guns... that being said i think this game lives up to its hype.... remember the hype was abou 90% graphics and on that front i believe KZ2 delivered.

Why are people surprised by this? They said months ago that they would not put coop in this game, and they never will. Suck it up, cry babies. The game is great the way it is.
