Over at the official Killzone website, Seb Downie, also known as motherH on PlayStation forums, discusses Killzone 2 and the development of its online mode.

Downie teased: “Me and my boys have been mostly busy testing Online this past week and making sure that the rewards and ranking are working as intended as well as checking the collision and geometry for MP02, also known as “Road Block” currently, but I’m sure it’ll get a much more exciting name before release. I can’t really give you much in the way of details about Multiplayer otherwise, even though I am itching to share it all with you. I guess you’ll have to wait a wee while longer though.”

Killzone 2 is an upcoming first-person shooter exclusively for PlayStation 3. Developed by the hardworking team at Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, the game has you take a stand with the ISA to overrun the Helghast and bring the world back to normal. At your disposal are numerous types of bullets, weapons and vehicles to utilize against the evil Helghasts.

Hopefully a beta will come soon now that the online portion is being tested internally.

Stay tuned to PSU for more Killzone news.

this game has to be the game that will sell the PS3 -- period ! The game that any true Hardcore gamer can't live without (like bioshock hum hum)

After HS being not that great (but frankly, isn't it just again some anti-sony bias overall on the reviewer ?, I sure will buy it). This game has to be the HALLO of the PS3. There's not that much else with MGS4, Killzone, GrantUrismo.. (yes I don't mention Final Fantasy). Perhaps Haze..
    can't wait for this game

hmm HS was presented, and we were waiting it as we do for Killzone 2, isn't it? Me now, I don't sell the bear's sink before having killed it (don't know if this is a well-know expression out of europe:-)

ANyway, I really hope it is the AAA game we're waiting, the first one to tap the PS3'^s power, and the first one labeled "not possible on the WIi (I^m joking, the xbrok360)"

    @ ebe

u do no that all we seen is how good the graphics are, the games story and gameplay (yea we seen some but not alot) are still unknown so comparing it to halo or saying it is a must buy should w8 until more is seen.

P.S. im not going to comment on reviewers being bias against sony but HS has got good reviews for a game which lasts 6 hours, any game even bioshock wont be a buy if it was only 6 hours long.

    @Ryoma

does it really last only 6hours ?. I mean, I don't make my idea on a game just based on net's reviews. I base it on friends's advice, user reviews etc..etc

so if you, for example, and other gamers say it last only 6hours (I hope you're not part of the gamers who's only objective is to finish the games the sooner and quicker tho), added with the overall net review (which indeed aren't bad, but not AAA's reviews), I'll think again before buying it.

But if the games offer me 10-15 hours of incredible experience, I'll buy it. I'm more for 10great hours thant 30average/bad hours (or games which take easy path and tricks to multiply the gaming time per 10x)

When I was speaing about HALO, it wasn't about the gameplay or story, but about the case that HALO sells XBox. and that 70% of XBOX's owner will buy it. period. it's a system-seller it's called :-)

SO I hope KZ2 to confirm to be the PS3's system seller we're waiting, but mostly, to be the AAA game that we are waiting for the PS3.

time isnt a factor because i have beaten games within a matter of hours and some games have taken me about 2-3 years to beat as long as its fun.

Finally...look like I'll have to rake out my copy of Killzone and take a run through again before the new one comes out.  Oh and @ebe...Bioshock is a fantastic game, ten times better than pretty much any other FPS thats out there just now...that'll change in time but it's a brilliant game...
