Developer Harmonix and publisher Electronic Arts are dealing with the various guitar issues related to their hot new music title, Rock Band.
PS3 owners have had qualms regarding compatibility issues with the Les Paul Guitar Hero III controllers. Simply put, they don't work in Rock Band. The game recognizes them as a regular controller, leaving you no choice but to break out the standard Rock Band guitar. Harmonix recently addressed the issue:
"Some of you have contacted us about the PS3 edition of Rock Band--from issues with guitar compatibility to frustration that stand-alone guitars and drums for Rock Band have not yet hit stores. Please know that these issues have our full attention. We are listening and we read everything that is posted on our forums. We are committed to providing the best play experience possible and working hard to ensure that we solve these problems as soon as possible. We promise to keep you updated and, in the meantime, we thank you for your patience."
Regarding a completely different issue, a portion of the guitars included in the first production run of the Rock Band bundle launched with flimsy strum bars. Harmonix released a statement regarding our Rock Band woes:
"If you are experiencing a problem with your guitar or any of your other Rock Band instruments, simply visit the customer support website and we will send a replacement immediately. Harmonix is dedicated to creating 100% customer satisfaction and to those of you who've encountered any hardware issues, we are sorry for the hassle."
Harmonix has already identified and addressed the problem in subsequent production runs. More on Rock Band soon.

It really sucks that every game that comes out for the PS3 has one problem or another, and what about all thepeople that have a PS3 not online, they never get an update or patch to fix problems- not a good thing for SONY how about making sure products work BEFORE they go to market! - Crazy concept I know!

@Algonath. Whats wrong with GH3? I love that game. But it suck that they didnt use bluetooth. You have to put the adapter in one of the usb slotts. But Rock Band is even wors! They totally ignored the wireless technology and went over to stone age with wires! I dont want oldgen wires on my nextgen system when its not necessary!

Glad to hear it. I hope they make it compatible enough that I can use my GH1 guitar on it, that would be extra cool.
GH3 is "okay" but the graphics are mad dated, the drummer is a stiff robot and the performances dont seem to go with the music. ROB definatly raises the bar for presentation and while there are a few really nice songs on GH3's tracklist there are a ton I know better on the RB tracklist.
There are very few people who can "never" get a patch. many times you can download patches independantly of the system and install them later, otherwise you could just take your system to the house of someone who DOES have internet... and frankly if you DONT have internet you're kinda pathetic sorry to say at this point were 10 bucks a month can atleast get you a narrow band dail up connection.
