Additonal Info:
We've been eagerly anticipating upcoming first person shooter Haze's launch... several times. The game has been delayed time and time again, but will finally be hitting retail stores May 20 in North America. Want to play it for free?
Well you can if you live in Canada, sort of. Ripten spotted an intriguing proposition regarding the title in the March flier for EB Games Canada. Apparently, if you pre-order the game, you're able to play and return it within a week of purchase for a full refund - in store credit.
Personally, we aren't sure if this will help or hurt the title. Will gamers who would have otherwise passed on the title jump on the opportunity to try it and decide to keep it? Or will the week of play satiate the average gamer's desire , who will proceed to return the title, destining it for the lucrative (for retailers, not publishers) used games business?
We aren't quite positive; perhaps both will be the case. Regardless, this deal doesn't look like it will be available in the US, at least for this title. We assume GameStop and EB Games are using Canada as a test subject for this new-fangled play before you pay promotion. We'll keep you updated on this nectar-riddled FPS coming to a PS3 near you this May.

Thats wacky. Haze will sell a lot, as this will only apply to 'new' games and not the returns. It'll sell more than i expected now.
This has ALWAYS happened in AUS/NZ EB Games, Full refund or exchange within 7 days on ANY games (with some exclusions - WoW etc) if they don't like the game or there is anything wrong with it, just keep the receipt.
What's so good about it being just for Haze in Canada?
Ya, this is already a standard practice at EB games in Canada,
They just don't advertise it . Same with their price guarantee. They'll beat any price at any store for the same game/console.
ie. tell them and they call up Wal-MArt and get their price and there you go.
ROFLMAO @ the subject.....
Well, I saw a post on Gametrailers.com yesterday and on the Gamestop Haze Advertisement that the person posted, it said that if you "Pre-Order" Haze you can return the game in one week for full in-store credit.
I doubt that many people will be returning Haze after playing it for just one week. Haze isn't as anticipated as Killzone 2 or Resistance 2, but I still think that it's going to be a solid PS3 shooter, plus, it's a PS3 exclusive, and the last PS3 exclusive shooter to come out was in November 2006 (Resistance), and I'm sure that PS3 owners that love shooters are going to be all over this game. There isn't any other really important games coming out in May, and Haze will really stick out in May as a must have title.
this is standerd EB procedure for any game with auzzie EB
I've seen this before so let me explain what's going on. When a game is SO good that retailers are confident enough that it won't get anyone trading the game in the first week of buying it, then they will do what you see here. God of War 2 on the PS2 had the same deal going, because NOONE thought anyone in their right mind would ever trade in such an amazing masterpiece just one week after buying it (and they were right). I think this is a sign that this game will kick everyone's asses (and expectations) and come out on top of the pile in terms of quality and fun.
haze is gay !!!!!! only dumb people like FPS games.
They also did this for a few other games in the past year. I am pretty sure I did this for a Metal Gear solid game.
Haze better have some impressive s*** for having me wait this long.
I live in Austraila and i do this all the time. It's better than hiring games, because you get a FULL REFUND. I have done this for about 50 games (not kidding). The trick is to return them at different EB games so they don't get suspicious. I would hate to pay 5 bucks to hire a game for one night. And the EB games sell these returned as if they were new. One time I got a taste of my own medicine and bought a "new" DS game and got one with a file on it. I returned that game.

psn id: gingo... this shows that EB games have a lot of faith in this title and dont expect many people to return the game
