Haze is a true PS3 exclusive

The details surrounding Haze are no longer hazy.

Haze has had quite the development cycle. The title has been in development for nearly three years and is finally nailed down to a specific date and platform. The date, May 20; the platform, PlayStation 3.

In our interview with Rob Yescombe (screenwriter and developer at Free Radical) late last year, Yescombe confirmed that Haze was a PlayStation 3 exclusive. However, he also confirmed that the title would be arriving in November 2007, which has long since gone by.

Jumping to present day, several Ubisoft representatives at Play.com Live have confirmed that the title is not a timed exclusive, but fully exclusive to PS3. To reiterate, it will never come out on any other platform. There will be no 360 SKU - the rumor is dead.

We'll have more for you on Haze when it creeps closer to its May release.

    psn id: gingo.....@Psiri..... there is barely any difference between 1080p and 720p and 30 fps and 60 fps, the only way you can really see any difference if u have 2 tv's with the same game at different settings set up beside each other, take the original resistance that was at 30fps but i didn't notice any slowdown throughout the whole game so it just shows that the fps dont really matter

    O.k., I always thought that Haze was going to stay a PS3 exclusive even though there were rumors going around that it could be just a timed exclusive. I can't wait for this game to finally come out. I watched a video interview with the director of Haze back in October and he plainly stated that Haze will be avaliable exclusively on the Playstation 3. After watching that video, I didn't have any more doubts about the game coming to the 360 and that was months ago.

    I like how colorful this game looks, makes it stand out when you compare it to the darkness of RFOM and KZ2. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if this game doesn't get a 9 or more from most reviewers then it will be a failure. It's Free Radical's fault for delaying it so much. I remember seeing ads for it back in December. And it still is pretty far away. BUT if it turns out to be a REALLY good game, then it's gonna join GTP and MGS4 as great exclusives in a very short period of time. Here's hoping for the best.

    Any one who says that the difference btwn 720p and 1080p is noticialbe to the point where you look and say "Wow thats a big difference".. Really doesnt know what there talking about.. Only time I've notice a real difference btwn the 2 was when I was @ P.C Richard and they had 2 Bravia's by eachother and one of them had the "Motion Flow" technology that, that looked like the people were freaking coming out the TV.. But other than that the jump is not like "Wow".. May be later down the line when we get up to 1440p and there's going to be a big difference..

    I can tell the difference between 720 and 1080, but it usually has to do with the clarity and size of text. 720p is perfectly fine as long as a game runs well - look at Uncharted for example.

    Finally, with the date all set it means I but RSV2 next week, GTA4 next month, then Haze in May, and maybe Dark Sector if I got the money and if I'm not addicted to RSV2

    is there smothign im missing here becuase my tv tells me what p its playing at and when the xmb comes up it says 1080p but the second you start a game it goes to 720p ... are all games right now only running on 720 or is somthign seriously screwing up here.

    Can't wait for this game, it is going to be awsome and should keep me entertained until Resistance 2 comes.

    Why are people arguing about resolution, who cares, all that matters is thatvthe game runs smoothly and is fun.

    This is old news.  Rob has been saying it's PS3 exclusive since fall of last year.  He said he wanted to give the PS3 some love...

    The PS3 exclusives list is much larger than the 360s currently.  The PS3 has over 20 third-party exclusives in the works that we know of, two of which are from GTA developers Rockstar.

    Thank you Ubisoft. I've been waiting to hear this for a long time, as with other PS3 owners. Great news. Im thinking Sony paid them to make it exclusive, its good to see Sony started to splash a little cash for some games :)

    Whats Haze? I never heard of it! I am joking of course. But its so long since I pre ordered it I FORGOT that I had till an email arrived stating new release date lol .. Gonna be good, lets just hope theres enough to keep us busy till KZ2

    then it means it will actually be good when they don't have to restrict their development to that crappy 360.. All multiplats are reduced in quality because of the 360, and look at their "big" games Mass Effect and Lost Oddysey, one has bad framerate and the other has bad graphics. They simply can't develop big and great looking games for the 360!

    Man, i thought Ubisoft was going to do the same thing as Assassins Creed. The timing is still going perfectly actually, we've been held back to May after waiting three years like AC, and then AC got pushed till Fall and then announced for the Xbox 360. It's nice that they are giving definites now. This is going to be the PS3's year to shine, and hopefully the Wii and the PS3 can get along too. (Think Super Smash Brothers Brawl in PS3 graphics with Blu-Ray to give DLC and more characters from the begining)

    Can someone please explain this to me. I remember seeing Assassin's Creed back in the days before the PS3 even came out. I remember how it was supposed to be an exclusive, then the PS3 release and nobody cared and I guess they decided to give it to the 360. BUT how does it come out better on the 360 if it was originally supposed to be for the PS3? And by better, I mean the small differences graphic wise.
