lol @tadpoles 80's rock fan comment. If kai is the main charecter she will have to be less of a headcase in my opinion as that could make the game way too annoying. Then again the crazy aspect could make for one iteresting story...damm i cant decide what i wan't, but im sure the final product will rock no matter what.

Kai is a great charachter. Her trauma made her a little bit unhinged and out of touch with reality but hopefully the events in the first game were the major steps to bringing her back down to earth.

All sound like good ideas, except for having some random guy be the main character, if he could be introduced in the second one and then be the main chracter in the third, then it would make a lot more sense. Also Kai would make for  a very interesting character, plus it would be great to combine sword and arrow combos.

Wouldnt have made sense to make kai the main character. Seriously, they should avoid a new male character like the plague. The ending to the first game was perfect in that it focused alot on kai and it definately held potential for Kai's personality to change and to see nariko as her role model.

What?!?!?!? A male protagonist??? Bring Nariko back from the dead guys. Invent an excuse and just bring her back, you can't let such a strong character vanish like that... Playing as Kai is not a bad idea but she has to evolve a lot...

the martial art thing is a plus for me in action games :)

don't put kai on the game she's kool but not as the main character someone like nariko will be good like her attitude and sometimes making fun of people

it is painfully obvious that what sold this game was its wonderful story telling and the fact that they spent vast resources developing these characters nariko and kai. to abandon them in gameplay moving forward simply dessimates the story for me. you fall in love with this story and the characters and invest your heart in helping them survive and save the heavenly sword. i don't know if i could just easily accept another heroine. i too would like to see nariko back or a much more mature kai that has taken on nariko's persona. crazy kai is no good for a main character. the seriousness of the heavenly sword and what it means to mankind could not be left up to someone of HS1 kai. it is always fine to bring new characters along and introduce them to add to the story and gameplay. maybe kai's sidekick could do the martial arts and kai weld the sword and crossbow? whatever the case that would be fine. a love interest along to support her with his special martial arts abilities. maybe have him in the end use the sword to save the world and die....leaving kai to finish the trilogy in his and nariko's honor. whatever the case....don't go another route with characters...keep the story alive...oh and by all means do not have us have to spend vast wasted time learning moves and training...that is a waste of my time and really kills a good flow of the game.

I thought they already had a 3-part story laid out? Thats what they said.. unless they decided to scrap the story and start from fresh. Either way, i think Nariko should return.. Kai would be good too, but Nariko should definately be back in there.. but i reckon as a really dark mistress type of player.. like after the events of the first game, she is sent back to Earth (or wherever this game is held! lol) but she changes.. she loses all her memories, and is a lot more serious and evil about how she approaches her next challenge.

- Kai back, but mature and darker (keep some of her creepiness)
- Kai doesn't need to follow a good path, she was a little selfish self center probably because being in a male clan and all other bad thing she has been throug... she probably want revenge and heavenly sword

- New Male can be her guidance.. bring some light

- Nariko some heavinly interaction from her part will be nice
- When Nariko talked in Heaven, at least I don't remember to who... but know Kai might go through something similar and find Nariko was her celestial guidance

- Don't take the evil man-bird-weirdo... he should follow Kain in her dreams.. as her nemesis.
- He is probably bringing all that dark energy into Kai

- Game aspects make it a little more "anime" in the sence of the exagerations like the last fight.
- Maybe a Heavenly fight where actually characters thrown to the environment can drastically break stuff and that affect damages combos ect.

- PLEASE!!!! DONT FORGET ONLINE FIGHTING A PLUS!!!
- MAYBE a survive mod to get the highest score.
- Keep it technical not smashing buttons.

Frankly My opinion was always that a second game should focus on her more becomeing the protector of the sword. She dosent even need to use it since she was pretty effective without it. Maybe later she'd use the sword much like Nariko but when this happens the combat is enhanced by the type of wild stunts that you experienced while playing her stages, Upside down fighting. more Twingtwang lots of acrobatics, and non combat gameplay like the "getting the password" part.

A Male main character should NOT be in Heavenly Sword 2. It should be Kai as a grown up woman because it would make more sense in terms of the story.  Introducing a Male character would be stupid, especially if he wasn't in the first game.

I think that there should not be replayable missions, I think that it should be an open world free-roaming game like Jak and Daxter.

If developers want to make a 3rd person action game like Heavenly Sword, they should just make if a free roaming game like the Jak and Daxter games because the game feels less linear because you can do whatever mission you want to do in any order.

Heavenly Sword needs to be at least as long as Uncharted Drakes Fortune. Heavenly Sword was way too short.

I really don't like the idea of downloadable weapons. The developer should just make a system in the game where you complete challenges or whatnot and you can unlock new weapons that way. Or maybe they can let us explore through various worlds and find the weapon that has to be unlocked. The whole downloadable weapon thing would only be used for making extra money. They should just keep everything in-game.

I hope that Heavenly Sword 2 can see a release by fall 2009 or sometime in 2009.

It would be kool to have Nariko jump, like kratos on god of war.And it would be kool if nariko can team up with kratos from god of war.

No male lead character for this game please. The female lead gives the whole game it's unique identity and appeal. If anything, use Kai the main character, but not as wacky, and have another female her age to help out along the way. The game-play would be interesting.

All i know is ps3's Core Power is gonna be tapped.And we will start to see games that are truly next gen,isnt this great!!.i just want to say that i hope it doesnt have an install.I hate those and who doesnt? man u read about the bd drive for the ps3 not being fast enough and that scares me.But i think they should tap some Cell Engine power to make those worries go away.Oh by the way there shouldn't be a guy in hs2 that wouldnt make any sense ressarect nariko and make her a little bit evil and make kai bring her back like nariko goes evil at the end of 2 and on 3 ki brings her back.....or kills her c!!! thats the story!!!!!!!

I hope they stick with Nariko.  She's the whole reason why I bought the game.  I don't see why that can't still use her as a main character.  They need to get their head out their A%* and think of a storyline that will still have her as the main character.  God of War has done it gonna be 3 times.  If they need ideas, they can just ask me.

I thought Kai made the story interesting and her as a main character would be interesting.  However if the male character was a clansman like the guy Nariko didn't get along with in the first, it would be relevant to the story and possible to execute.
