Hideo Kojima gets Lifetime Achievement Award from MTV

Well it's about blooming time. Metal Gear Solid creator and Kojima Productions boss Hideo Kojima has become the very first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Game Award at MTV Awards 2008, memorialised here by diligent Youtube fans.

As if that wasn't enough, MTV got the delectable Jade Raymond of Assassin's Creed fame to hand over the trophy. She gave a rather laudatory speech, giving special attention to the "dramatic and memorable cut scenes" which characterise the MGS series, and described Kojima as "the first creator who's taken the risk of discussing current issues and things that matter to modern gamers". We were sobbing in our seats.


Kojima himself then took the stage to make the following stirring insistence: "I will continue to create games as long as I live." Good on you, Kojima-san. We're sure the best is yet to come.

    thats awesome, Kazunori Yamauchi, the guy who does GT series should be next for this award, i mean come on he is the head of the best selling franchise ever

    this is probably a hint to a metal gear solid 5 game, hopefully it is. i like how he make you want there to be another game .   i love MGS games

    I'm now gonna nominate Hideo as President of the Planet.

    But really, Hideo totally deserves this, can't think of anybody better to recieve this award.

    i wonder why or if Sony ever tryed to buy out Kojima's contract from Konami to cut out the middle man. plus its time to think outside the boxs  the next Metal Gear may not be excluesive to Playstaion.

     

    @Gotmilk why not buy a game thats produced by a woman you sound like an idiot. if the game is good what does the gender of the producer matter.

    Dont take the woman thing so personally besides i think uncharted was made by a few women on the dev. team so theres proof they can contribute good things to gaming.

     

    By the way the whole video made me groan until Hideo Kojima  started speaking......ahh music to my ears

    psn id: gingo... he definitely deserves this, the MGS series was a massive risk with its heavy story and stealth gameplay but its turned into an iconic game and Kojima is a legend in many gamers eyes

    Love all the metal gear games. I'm glad to see he will continue to make more games even titles that aren't metal gear. I've never seen a better story in a game.
