(continued from previous page) ...fact that what I have been doing, not just this PS3 game, but my previous PS2 titles. I always reached for the higher goal and I try to go for it... Things like this often happen with Japanese newspapers. Where they take only the choice quotes. They don't change what you say, but the meaning's different, and the meaning changes. I'm always careful while giving interviews. Even in my company, I'm learning a lot about media training, but I wanted to do more than just that and here i am with the interview, but if things like above keep happening, I won't do anymore interviews. I don't get paid for these interviews at all. [jokingly] I won't do them anymore! I've decided! I'll stop doing my podcast! Like that."
We understand this may look like a wall of text, but it's definitely worth taking the time to read. Kojima is a modest guy alright and we look forward to MGS4 come June 12, 2008.

Whether thats really true or Sony wasn't happy with his statements towards MGS4 has me questioning, but from the look of the beta, i'd be happy just to get it now. lol he's prejudice to Americans.
to Dave W
whatever happened to Sarad Jackson and the rest of the PSU Staff? -

Im pretty sure we all knew that Kojima was never really serious about the PS3 comment, he just didnt want to seem arrogant by saying he was the best and he had the best game, so instead he said that he felt that he could of done better. But it all got blown out of porportion.
And on the side,
Sarad was let go?
He was one of the cooler reporters on PSU!!!!!

Everyone's trying to find something controversial in what people say and the truth is lost.

goood. read. i can't wait for MGS4. i'll be there at 8:00 on june 12,2008 8 p.m.- 1 a.m. when getting the game. i'm going to try to be the 1st in line to get the limited edition that i have pre-ordered and fully paid. also thinking about getting MGS/ps3 bundle. but, probably not... if i hear someone say " i wish MGS4 was on the 360" i am going to call them a looser, and that will never happen

I love it when people speak unpopular truths. Good on him! Welcome to media spin, Mr. Kojima. Hope you enjoy it.

Also, this guy doesn't have to answer to anyone as far as his team's hard work or expertise. They squeeze the max out of the any platform when they make games. EVEN THEIR PORTS ARE GOOD.

There are enough people who understood what he said. And it sounds like he's a little miffed at the western reporters. Granted it seems as if there was some sort of mistranslation going on here agan with the modest statments ( It sounds like he is describing himself as reserved instead of modest) but then again thats the beauty of human languages and shoody reporting.

Japanese words have multiple meanings, you will see it when you watch a subbed anime to the dubbed one made by translators. So Sony may have asked him to say this, but this man seems like the kind of man that believes in honor, same with the company itself.
