Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has assured fans that a third installment in the Zone of the Enders franchise will materialise eventually, though wouldn’t commit to a specific time frame for the project.
Speaking on his blog, Kojima-san stated, “I cannot make a promise about time. However, I can promise a sequel.”
Elsewhere, he also addressed poor sales of 2003’s Zone of the Enders 2: The Second Runner, conceding that the game’s muted response at retail came as a result of “an error” on his part.
“Everything was due to an error by me,” admitted Kojima.
“At that time, if I hadn’t made a mistake with the release date, [Zone of the Enders] might have ended up a major Kojima Productions title to follow MGS, still seeing development as a series.”
