In an interview with Phil Harrison, GameSpot confirmed that even though PlayStation Home has been delayed until 2008, PS3 users will get to experience Home in some way this year.
"We will still be opening in late November/early December for general beta testing. So, the commercial start of Home will be pushed out later, but you will still get the experience this year," he explained.
PlayStation Home will bring a whole new meaning to networking with the ability to meet friends, play games, and customize your own pad/crib/Home Space. Players will be given almost unlimited freedom in where they go and what they do. Also, publishers and developers will have the chance to create their own hot spots to showcase all their upcoming games and invite players to see their newest developments.
Be sure to check back in with PSU for further updates on Home.

you have a better chance of getting a beta invite if you joiun Playstation underground and keep your information up to date. Every once and a while they invite PSunderground members into the Gamer Advisory Panel which tend to get preferntial treatment in regards to being invited into beta tests.

lame.... great for GAP members..... that is if its not an "open beta" like some are thinking..... it should just be a download on the PSStore.... honestly, the warhawk beta did almost nothing.... if everyone got on home in numbers like warhawks actual release, sony would actually be able to asses, and fix this stuff before spring.... i don't think thats enough time still...

Its a good idea to offer access to everyone as the feedback will help correct any area's that need it and they will be able to uncover and smooth out any bugs. Plus its fun for us at the same time!

I agree that it would not be polite to shut everyone out of the beta except a few on the gamer advisory panel- Everyone who has a PS3 should have something for our trouble. Its also good for people to see some progress I mean we have been hearing about it - lets at least get a sample.

Congrats for what? You know what we have? A room, you can put a couple peices of furniture in it, walk around really slow, goto another room where you can play a couple NES era games, or watch vids that you can already download via PSN.
There isnt really anything else. Its nothing special, you are not missing out on anything.

Im not over excited by home, its pretty innovative for a console though and Im sure I'll pop in a few times a week to pass the time. Im sure Sony have some great ideas tho on how to make it really worth while havin. Time will tell.
