Home on track even with Harrison's departure

As most of you know, Phil Harrison was a strong supporter and director for the PlayStation Home concept. With his resignation from Sony today, a lot of people may have questioned how this would affect Home directly and if it would throw it off course slightly. According to a Sony Computer Entertainment America spokesperson, Home will not have a hiccup due to these events.
"[It's] business as usual for Home. The projects that Phil has been working on including Home are still on track and are still sticking to their current schedules," a SCEA spokesperson said. "Each title and project is supported by a wide variety of people behind the scenes to ensure the highest quality and execution."
As most know, there still is no official launch date for Home and most expect it to be released sometime in the spring of 2008, however, a delay is potentially possible as it has happened in the past. We'll keep you guys up to date in any news surrounding this highly anticipated implementation to Sony's online service the best we can.

man Phil was beefing with SCEJ hard! Could it have very well been about the direction that HOME was headed. SCEJ not supporting HOME fully maybe? It's hard to really grasp this. Phil he was the face of PS after Kutaragi San. I'm not sure if they'll get another public face as his. I like Jack Tretton but he's a bit stiff. Oh well, what's next

That is one of the most ridiculous things i have heard, of course they are still on track, he has only recently stepped down, and its not as if he was doing all the work behind it. I'm sure there is adequate cover for him, hopefully someone who can keep the projects running smoothly.

for real. I'm actually hyped for home. if they delay it again, it'll kill things for me. The gaming industry needs to stop delaying stuff. The hype connected to the game dies out so fast, when they do. AND they need to STOP announcing games so d*mn early. Let us know about a game maybe 4 months in advance. NOT F***IN 3 YEARS. ITS ANNOYING.

I remember how pumped up I was last Fall when I heard Home was gonna come out by 2007, but then they delayed it and I got VERY dissapointed. If they delay it AGAIN, I'm gonna lose alot of interest in it, but of course I'll still download it when it comes out lol.

Sony is now a soulless machine, ready to replace any cog that that doesn't mesh right with the japan headquarters. it's a shame with all that he done to further the progression of online play, this how he is treated. NEWS FLASH your online strategy is the only this holding sony back from truly ruling the gaming world again!

Although I agree with the fact that delays can discourage alot of people, I am still excited about HOME being released. (No matter when it is.) The way I look at it, I would rather wait 11 or 12 months for them to seriously master the make. It will be worth it to be patient. I don't want some game that has only a little bit of problems. Just fix it (or make it) right the first time, and then let me at it. Whenever we do get it, I don't think you guys will even remember the fact that you had to wait.

Concidering how long it's been since Phil has actually given an interview about ANYTHING it's no surprise. There shouldnt be any visible hiccup for any change over assuming enough advance warning... That said, Up to this point the development if home has been very slow so maybe his leaving will help speed it up? I guess we'll see during the wendsday update to Home.

Home better be out soon. I'm already ticked that LBP is going for full $60 retail. So help the next company who thinks of delaying a game...

This is good to know considering how much time and effort Phil Harrison put into home. But I think what the Americans are missing is a bigger soft opening for home to get people animated about joining HOME and making it a long-term adaptation otherwise it just might be another phase that lasts a couple of months and fizzles out. Hope not Sony we know your riding on this and Little Big Planet.

Why Home going to get delayed because of Phil step down? He is not the genius behind home He just a CEO nothing else. He is not the intellectual mind of home not even the developer. Guy’s CEO’s are head deck for brilliant people. CEO's are a well paid administrative position, nothing else.
