How Quantic Dream may extend Heavy Rain

If you are discouraged to hear that Quantic Dream’s PlayStation 3 exclusive, Heavy Rain, will only last roughly 10-hours, founder David Cage has stated the company is in talks with Sony about offering additional storylines through downloadable content.
In a recent interview with VideoGamer.com, Cage said, “We are talking with Sony at the moment about having maybe extra downloadable content, maybe with prequels or sequels about the characters. I’m sure people will get attached to some of them and will want to know them even better.”
While the game will have some online features, don’t get your hopes up about a multiplayer experience.
“We’re working on this at the moment, having some content online and different features online,” he said. “But it won’t be of course multiplayer, it’s a single-player experience.”
Look for Heavy Rain in early 2010 exclusively on the PS3.

Terrible misleading journalism. Some of us already understand the replayability of Heavy Rain but you're misleading everybody else. -

I plan on buying this games on first day it release. NO IT DOES NOT LOOK STUPID, YOU THE STUPID ONE. The graphics almost look better than killzone 2 right now.

@Fiddlesworth
Actually, there is virtually NO replayability in this game...Cage said that he wanted people to maybe play the game one time and never pick it up again.

@12 actually there are multiple different paths in this game and it has been pushing the point that playing it a second time will be a different experience depending on the choices you make...... PLUS DLC will be made for it..
look if you have no interest in this type of game thenhow do you know if it's going to be stupid if you've never played a similar game before?

@oatmeal. IF you don't get call of duty you have horrible tast
@Blinkyec stop hating of Call of duty I don't want a game that lasts 10 hours. Besides IF this comes out around the same time as God of war 3 in march then I'll be busy with God of war.

Only 10 hours?
Woah, that surely makes this game worth a rent. Unfortunately, I can't rent games in my country...which mean I'm not likely to play this game at all, since I can only buy a game every now and then and there are many other exclusives which have caught my eye.

Great decision on no multiplayer. No offense to those who love it but multiplayer has become so generic. The majority of games with multiplayer have a watered down storyline. It's good to see a game that is geared more towards us gamers who are interested in the storyline and not the multiplayer.

The Heavy Rain experience should be nothing short of amazing. Might not be everyones cup of tea but for the people anticipating this, it should not dissapoint. Heavy Rain should definitely not be slept on.

That's awesome. To the nay sayers-Every game doesn't need to be a fps with no story and 10 or so idiots hoping around like bunnies shooting missiles (no disrespect to games like Killzone where they actually but some thought into the strategy side of it). Believe it or not some of us find that mind numbingly boring.

I'm all for DLC I can't wait for this game
@17 they have stated multiple times that this game will have different scenarios for each thing you do, so it may be a 10 hour game for story but to go back and do things differently adds much more to those 10 hours....If you don't want to get the game be my guest and play cod:mw2 which practically has less than 10 hours of gameplay excluding Mp..

And you have to take into account the game isn't on a set path and numerous outcomes can be achieved. Some people are under the assumption that if they don't like games that make you think, no one will. I like to call it ignorance in a bubble. The inhabitant is far too stupid to realize that life exist outside of it (even though he can see through it).

The thing i like is Quantic Dream seem honest they dont seem like they want to screw anyone over and the game looks awsome but as said by some one else if you love story in games and you like getting attatched to the characters this seems like the game for you. Also since the game is so unique i hope it sells well :P

No one should say it is stupid or is awesome until it at least comes out. I think it looks very interesting and will judge when I have played it.
10 hours? Not to compare this to a mediocre game but wasn't L4D like an hour for each campaign at 4 total? It did very well and yea this won't have multiplayer but I bet it has a lot of replay value.

its funny how misconcieved this game is appearing to be... there are multiple endings and each character in the game can die meaning even more possibilities throughout the length of the game, which in turn ENCOURAGES multiple playthroughs. And what developer in the history of video games would tell somebody to play a game thats been in development for years with more hard work put into it than alot of you will ever come to know once? Be real this game will definitely be worth the wait, and i for one am extremely excited

@4
Get rich quick? How would they manage that after spending so much time one the game? Definitely not quick & probably not rich either considering its a niche game.
As for the content..this is what DLC should be about. Increase the game length with a new story. It beats DLC weapons, maps & what have you. Im all for it.
