Welcome to our weekly recap pertaining to all things Inside PlayStation Network. Every MON-FRI, PSU shines the spotlight on a piece of content plucked from the digital delights of Sony’s online service, be it a chunk of DLC, PSOne Classic or regular PSN release. In case you missed out on any of this week’s entries, here’s your chance to catch up and see what titles we dissected under the microscope.

Monday – Zombie Tycoon

Blimey, is there nothing that our ubiquitous, rotting friends can’t turn their bony hands to? Apparently, not, as Zombie Tycoon has the shambling monstrosities trying their luck at world domination in this top-down strategy romp. Yes, it’s another zombie apocalypse, this time inaugurated by the whacky experiments of one Dr. Brainhov, who’s hell bent on raising an army of undead. Typically, things don’t go quite according to plan. Brainhov ultimately turns himself into one of the moaning, groaning monstrosities, leaving command duties to long-suffering helper Ernest and a mysterious masked chap. And this is where you come in. Tuesday – Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines

Assassin’s Creed made a roof-top jump to Sony’s PSP back in 2009, reacquainting players with slippery protagonist Altair from the inaugural stealth ‘em up. Set around 8 months after Assassin’s Creed, this pint-sized adventure takes place predominantly on Cyprus, as our hooded hero embarks on a quest to snuff out the last remaining Templars gathering there. Wednesday – Super Stardust HD

Capitalizing on the retro-fuelled, dual-joystick blasting antics of Robotron, Housemarque’s Super Stardust HD may carry a whiff of ‘been there, done that’ about its aura, but don’t let that stop you from have a gander at what’s on offer. Gameplay wise, things couldn’t be more clear-cut. Players hop into the cockpit of a pint-sized spacecraft tasked with blasting asteroids apart, which have a nasty habit of gravitating towards a nearby planet’s protective grid. Three weapon types are up for grabs, each one possessing varying degrees of effectiveness against the myriad of rock types that come hurtling inexorably towards your position. Thursday – Dead or Alive

As one of the direct competitors to Namco’s mammoth-selling Tekken franchise in the late 90s, boob-tastic brawler Dead or Alive calved out its own unique niche thanks its emphasis on speed and comprehensive countering system. Arriving on Sony’s grey box of tricks back in 1998 following an arcade and Sega Saturn release, the voluptuous fighter offers up a total of eleven combatants and a meaty 84 costumes to unlock. New costumes are unlocked as you rack up victories, so you’ll have plenty of reason to keep pummelling away at your adversaries. (Click here for full article).

Friday – Parasite Eve

Based on the novel of the same name, cult classic Parasite Eve made a fair bit of noise upon its release back in the late 90s. Viewed by many as amalgamation of Resident Evil and Final Fantasy, the horror-RPG chronicles six days in the life of New York bobby Aya Brea, as she takes on hordes of slobbering monstrosities across numerous iconic locations throughout the Big Apple. Indeed, the comparisons between both RE and FF are strikingly apparent throughout, with Parasite Eve utilizing alternating camera angles and random battle encounters. The process of slugging it with foes, however, is quite disparate to Square’s stable mate RPG juggernaut.(Click here for full article).
