Capcom announced today that Monster Hunter 2nd G has shipped over 1.5 million copies in Japan since its release on March 27.

The news comes less than a week after the company revealed the game had shipped over one million units in the territory.

Total sales of the franchise, which first started on PlayStation 2 in 2004, now stand at 6.8 million units sold, with Capcom citing it as "one of our most valued titles."

Will all 1.5 million sell in Japan?  And if it does, is that where the train stops and doesn't sell as much outside of Japan??  I hope it does well anyway...wherever it's released?!?

It probably won't be released anywhere else as no one in the western territories really cares for the series. That's why I imported my copy of Portable 2nd G and I can't stop playing it.
