Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) announced today that the revamped PlayStation Store would go live in the region on April 15, coinciding with the release of firmware 2.30 for PlayStation 3.
According to a rough translation of the Japanese press release, the new firmware update appears to imply some sort of "PS Hunt for Treasure Store,” although details are sketchy at best.
CVG speculates that every 50th customer to download something from the store between April 12 - May 15 will receive some sort of free prize.
A release date for the new features in western territories has yet to be decided, with only a "mid April" commitment doing the rounds.

Quick question, i cant use downloaded content for GH3 on my european ps3 (reg 2) when downloading from the US store. will this be fixed?
Wasnt it confirmed that the new store would no longer be regioned? so why the does japan get it early... Or maybe its just the US and Euro versions that are now the same...?

The free prize will be HOME! I bet my dollars on it. I got on my store today and it looked different are they changing it while updating it or am I the only one? Kinda cool it come out for them next week.

I guess Home as a prize would be a good way to keep the servers up when the Beta comes out. Or maybe a game. Or eggs!
