Jobe Dylan on upcoming Warhawk attractions

Jobe Dylan, the Producer of Incognito Entertainment’s successful multiplayer title Warhawk, has revealed plans to release further content for the game in the form of a new booster pack and game modes.

Speaking at the Game Developers Conference this week, Dylan discussed the contents of Operation Broken Mirror - a new booster pack, which will feature a selection of new vehicles and a new battlefield.

Dylan let slip that among the new vehicles included in the pack would be an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), which acts as a mobile spawn point and supply depot.

Regarding new game modes, Dylan announced that they would be separate from booster packs, instead making up part of any future patch releases. Finally, he also touched base on the possibility of a single-player update for Warhawk, commenting:

“If we look at doing single-player in the future [it would be] related to a new product.”

Nonetheless, Dylan did hint at the possibility of adding to the franchise beyond its current incarnation on PS3, stating, "If there is an opportunity that presents itself for us to further the franchise then we'll definitely take advantage of it."

“If we look at doing single-player in the future [it would be] related to a new product.”

That doesn't sound like as if it was going to be in an update. "it would be related to a new product". I think they mean it's going to be sold separately. Or am I wrong?

I havnt been able to play anything since I got COD4 - and honestly it took all my WARHAWK time (which im way ok with! ) DAMN, COD4 online is soooooo sweet!!  I have 2 gamefly games (orange box & DevilMC) just sitting waiting for me, but F" it, I want more COD!!!

lol @ wiggsj.  You need just a little bit more free time.  Those other games will also take up some of your time.

This game is really nice, i think the one problem is that all the downloadable content/updates and vehicles sound great, but everyone is too scattered during gameplay to use them to thier full capacity! On Omega Dawn, IVE NEVER SEEN A CARRIER PUT TO FULL USE!

-otherwise, single player might be cool

Mike, Dylan Jobe is the person who works on Warkhawk, not Jobe Dylan. You may want to correct that ;)

Is he hinting that they want to go to 360?  that would suck SO bad haha.  I love Incognito they always keep the updates coming.  They really want to get the whole team play going, thats why they got us the dropship.  But that obviously didnt work.  Either some jurk takes it around like their own personal warhawk or somebody wastes their time trying to get people on.  Honestly the dropship is great with 4+ people on the guns, so good its scary.  It is almost never taken advantage of though.  When a team does use it to the fullest, you better believe they win.

I still dont get all the COS love. Its an ok game, but Warhawk kills it. I rented COD4, and returned it before it was due. The online is horrible compared to Warhawk.. That and the levels feel like you are playing in a tiny box. Different strokes I guess. I cant wait for anything Warhawk related.

@ Daz, completely agree man, COD4's online is sooooo weak compared to Warhawk IMO too.

lol, you can't compare COD4 and warhawk !! one is an arcade 3rd person shooter, the other is a realistic 1st person shooter !!

    Portable spawn points FTW !!

  26. Punisher99

    • 1:33pm GMT - February 22nd, 2008

This is really great news. Warhawk is a game that evolves. I rented Cod4, story mode is great but too short, and the online play just plain sucks. Nothing but mindless shooting, just happen to be behind your oponent and you will get the kill, or find a hidden sniping position and just own everyone. No strategy in Cod4. But Warhawk, if you are going to win. Strategy is a must. Thats why Warhawk is the best online game on PS3. The ability to choose how you wanna fight. Air, ground, or anti-air. Just simply brilliant.

I can't stop playing this game too! There's so much teamwork involved that you get hooked on the 'buddy' aspect as well as the gameplay, making it seem like more of a social experience than COD4.

The crazy thing about warhawk are those people with like 100,000+ points.  I think I have close to 70 hours and just under 9,000 points,  I thought I played it way too much.  Can you even have a life to get that high?

i know u cant compare a third-person shooter with a fps...but wat cod4 beats warhawk in is the fast pace action...which is why i dont play warhawk anymore

WH got own by COD4 because it doesn't have the realistic looks to the game. if they made a sequel or something it needs to include single player & co ops with realistic feels & im sure ps3 owner will forget COD4 if this happen & now it just leave to Killzone 2. can Killzone 2 steal away COD4 players?

Warhawk is so much fun.  I like the third person more than the first person so much.  At first, I wasn't so sure I would like warhawk, but I am hooked!!!  If anyone wants to add me as a friend on the game hit me up.  Let's put that drop ship to some use and get thos fu^*ers. hahaha   sereiously, let's kick some tail...

@brandonh33 I believe Incognito is a 1st party dev for SONY. So if I am right there is no way this game is heading to the 360.  I am also waiting for these ne updates.. I just got the game and I already addicted to it... So is my 3yr old daughter lol

When are we getting walking tanks and other manga esque technology, I'm assuming it's set in a future that will allow these kinds of weapons, and hows about some form of training mode (unless there's one on the disc, I don't know l've only got the PSN version)

@Punisher99 Nice idea, the Warhawk template could/should work for a Epic/Warhammer 40,000/Space Marine title, just imagine the enormous campaigns that would ensue, I forget if Dreadnoughts are manned or automated

www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=4755645 This link will guide you through the EASY process of getting a brand new retail Playstation 3! Here is how it works! First and foremost this is NOT like those other offers you see all over the web, where you are required to sign up for a million "free" offers that end up taking forever and costing you a bunch of money and a headache. You click this link and sign up for their referral program. With this program you are required to participate in only ONE of their sponsor's offers, the one I chose was the yahoo success kit, which only cost $1.95. That’s all I have paid so far! Once you sign up for your ONE required offer you use the link they provide you and post it on forums, or send it to friends, and if someone uses that link to sign up and complete one offer of their own, you get a referral. Here is the cost breakdown of the referral system. 8 Referrals = New retail 40gb PS3 10 Referrals = New retail 60gb PS3 12 Referrals = New retail 80gb PS3 and ONE game of your choice 14 Referrals = New retail 80gb Ps3 and two games YOU CHOSE (includes new releases like Uncharted: Drake's Fortune or Ratchet and Clank Future etc…) Plus many more PS3 offers and others including up to $475 in CASH I have been a member for 3 days and have 10 completed referrals on my account, well on my way to my chosen 14 (Already enough for a 60gb or 40gb PS3). I also have 250 people, who have signed up; if any 4 of them complete an offer I have my Ps3 and two games. It can take up to 3 days for a completed offer to process, so I may have already reached my goal. The company even covers shipping and handling so there is no hidden costs of ANY KIND. This website even has you create an account so you can track your progress the entire way through, and once your package ships, they supply a UPS tracking link. It is extremely user friendly I recommend you research this company online, as they are proven legitimate and not in any way a scam. EGM magazine actually did a story on them 2 years ago to see if they were legit and did in fact get a free system, so they proved it worked! The way it is possible is these sponsor's pay this company money for referring people to them, and using a portion of that money, buy you a PS3 as an incentive for helping them advertise. It is a pretty nice scheme, but it results in me getting something for free so I don't care. This will be my third free thing to get from this company; I have a 360 elite and iPhone for the cost of about 5 dollars. Enjoy your free system, free isn't a bad deal for a great console and a Blu-Ray player! www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=4755645
