Kayne & Lynch has sold over 1 million copies

Despite low review scores across a number of publications, the 2007 mature hit, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, took the industry by storm last fall to be one of the bigger holiday 2007 titles across many platforms, including the PlayStation 3.

It appears that Eidos, the people behind the Tomb Raider series possibly has another franchise to delve on in the future, as Kayne & Lynch just hit the one million mark in copies sold. A statement released by SCi, the parent company states, “We anticipate a positive sales trend to continue through the remainder of FY08 and for Kane and Lynch to firmly establish itself as another key franchise for the Group,”

For the two months that Kane & Lynch has been released, it has already sold more than Hitman: Blood Money did in its first two months of existence. With this success, expect a sequel to come sometime in 2009.

this proves that not all reviews matter....i'm sad that this title move past R&C and Uncharted, and i fear that devs might go for multiplat rather than exclusive, because of lack of support, the PS3 community rather support a  multiplat title than an exclusive one

My sister bought this game (for herself).Personally, I wasn't very interested in this title but after playing it for a while, I suppose it has its nice points here and there. I still woudn't want this in my collection however, when it comes down to guys knocking out female club owners; thats where I have to draw the line. Quite enjoying though. (but it almost seems PS2y)

I think this game would be great  if a keyboard & mouse where optional.

    -

I understand that the PS3 was designed to be played with a SIXAXIS. but, I believe this game would play far better if it had keyboard & mouse funtionality.

    -

I think more game developers should inplument that secondary option into games.

    -

Do any of you know any games besides Unreal Tournament; that support s keyboard and mouse?

Nice to see even crappy games can sell well.  Leave it to the XBox owners to buy every game out there, and reward lazy developers.

If only there were as many PS3 owners as 360 owners then games like Warkhawk, Resistance, Uncharted, UT3 and R&C would have such a better rep and would have gone for game of the year awards. It sucked watching all the damn awards being giving out to everything but PS3 games. I don't care what anyone says. I have never played a game as fun as Uncharted and as good looking.

Kane & Lynch isnt THAT bad.. but it has no real replay value. The story is cool, but the aiming system, graphics and replay arent good at all. I'd give it a 7/10.

Come on now, people. It wasn't that bad of a game. There are worse things out there ya know. Even though I only played the first couple levels, I honestly had fun doing it. To me, it's simply different gameplay/mechanics that you need to get used to, rather than compare it to something as solid as Uncharted.

Kane & Lynch is an ok game, but I firmly believe that it was the controversy it stirred up that caused the spike in sales. No one can deny that the story and presentation including actors, and the uniqueness on how it's incorporated into gameplay speaks for itself. The gameplay, graphics, and replay is rather low though. Regardless of all that though, fragile alliance is one unique gametype I will remember this game for. it deserves around a 7/10.

I personally didnt like it, the aiming just felt weird, they should tighten the bolts and kick a55 on the sequel.

A friend of mine got it and returned it the very next day, and said I shouldn´t buy it. And I have to say, that the demo isn´t great at all.. And that was a huge let down, because I have played all the hitman-games. Supporting the danish gameing developemt (but not with this one) :-(

hitman blood money was way better then this game, hopefully theye continue to make hitman games, or make kane and lynch 2 a much better game, the caracters, story, dialoge and tone of the game were great but the game it self wasn't.

You know what a lot of people pay attention too is storyline and character personalities. The videos of the two main characters talking about video games alone probably sold half of the copies. If they have conversations like this through out the game it would atleast be entertaining to watch if not play.

It's a mistery why Uncharted didn't sell over 1 million... I realy don't get it. And a average game like K&L sells 1 mil.

I'm wondering if this really means 1 million copies was sold to consumers, or if its actually referring to 1 million copies shipped to retailers. I'm a bit skeptical on this one...

This game is crap - go rent it yourself and see. Seriously save your money and buy something worthy of your cash.

This was another over hyped game. My impression was that it was released without proper development time. The controls are dodgy, the plot line isnt broken...because it doesnt have one, and there is zero satisfaction in completing the game - infact mine got listed on eBay after about three hours of game play.

Look some people actually played Lair and said it was OK. Im not one of those, so maybe you have different tastes - make your own judgement and rent it first...You have been warned.
