Kingdom Hearts’ second remaster is ‘second priority’ after Kingdom Hearts III

In an interview with KH Destiny and KH Island, Kingdom Hearts III series director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that a second Kingdom Hearts remaster is on the way and topped in priority only by Kingdom Hearts III.

The interview translation, courtesy of KH Insider, reveals Nomura’s intention to continue recapping the series before unleashing the third installment. When asked if fans could expect other Kingdom Hearts titles to be remastered (after the three included in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX), Nomura said, "Of course, we will spend some time working on them before the release of KINGDOM HEARTS III. Unfortunately, there is nothing more I can say on the subject at this time."

However, shortly after, Nomura responded to a question about cloud gaming on PS4 with more details. "We did not even think about the issue [of streaming past KH titles] because our priority at the moment is the development of KINGDOM HEARTS III," he said. "Additionally, we are working on the next KINGDOM HEARTS HD remaster, which is our second priority."

Nomura’s words conflict with each other somewhat, declaring in one breath that his team would be working on the second Kingdom Hearts HD collection before Kingdom Hearts III, and implying in the next that Kingdom Hearts III will come out before the second collection (HD 2.5 ReMIX?). Then again, his first response could mean that, while work will be put into the second collection between now and Kingdom Hearts III’s release, Kingdom Hearts III will, in fact, hit store shelves first.

In which case, more power to him. I want this game in my life so badly.
