Konami wants Saw game to rival Silent Hill

Konami has said it is looking to the newly acquired Saw licence to deliver a brand new Survival Horror property equal to that of the publisher’s long running psychological horror series, Silent Hill.

Speaking to Variety, Konami’s David Daniels commented, "Because we have leadership in the survival horror genre we're passionate about it and wanted to find another property on par with Silent Hill.”

"Silent Hill is more about psychological terror, but Saw for us is more about graphic, intense horror that overwhelms you. We want players to turn away from the screen for just a moment because of the visual intensity.”

Daniels also promised that fans of the movie series can expect to see a number of iconic traps translated over to the videogame adaptation, adding, "One of the big pillars of Saw is the maniacal, twister serial killer Jigsaw's very unusual traps," he added, "And you can expect that's something we'll carry forward. Some traps will even be a direct translation from the movies, particularly the iconic ones fans love."

Saw will be released for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 this fall. Fans will be pleased to know that Jigsaw actor Tobin Bell will be reprising his dastardly role especially for the game – let’s just hope it’s worth the wait.

    Aaawww not for PSP?

    That would be awesome if they did have one for PSP!

    Anyway looking forward to PS3!

     Terrible.  I will never support this game.  Crap movie = crap game.  Just wait till the censors get a hold of it.  You thought they had a problem with GTA?

    If they wanted a game to rival Silent Hill they should make something ORIGINAL!    the saw movies were Lame with a capital L

    I agree with ryuken. If they want to make something that rivals silent hill they need to make an original property. This is just a game based off a movie, it will never have the same atmosphere of something original that was meant to be a game from the begining.

     pshhh.. will never come close to Silent Hill...

    The last Silent Hill didnt come close to what the previous Silent Hills were..

    Homecoming was garbage. 

    The Saw movies suck, I wanna tear my hair out everytime a new one is released.

    They are equal to a pest that just wont go away.

    sad this......... konami is now softhouse of americans storyline....... :( never than this game you surpasses the silent hill 2 or game off series silent hill NEVER.

    the SAW movies are sick. I love them cant wait for part 6 this halloween ( the final saw). But i think the game unfortunately is going to be terrible .

    Nothing will top Silent Hill 2 thats the ultimate spine chiller.

    I think Producers in general are a bunch of Panzies.

    I havent been scared by a Game or Movie since Abbott & Costello met the Mummy !
