Lair delayed in Europe

November 9 was supposed to be the day when the European market finally got their hands on the highly sought after PS3 exclusive, Lair. Unfortunately however, we can report that the game has in fact been pushed back a whole fortnight.

November 23 will be the new day of destination for all you flying dragon enthusiast. While Sony has not come out with any official confirmation as to why the delayed took place, we can only speculate that it probably had something to do with in house logistics. Either way, why would Sony wait so long to announce a delay?

Lair is a PlayStation 3 exclusive from the developers Factor 5. In Lair, player will take control of a warrior who travels around on a bloodthirsty dragon to help bring peace to a war torn civilization.

What sets Lair truly apart from many games is that it makes great use of the Sixaxis motion sensor controller, almost better than any PS3 game to date. Lair is currently available in North American.

Erm not too sure this story is acurate actually. I live in Europe, the UK to be precise  and I've seen plenty of copies of LAIR in branches of HMV, Game and Gamestop. Not to mention my local branch of Woolies. All priced up and ready to be sold I thought. I'll check it out but I think this story is false.

I would give this game a miss. I played it with my Sister who lives in NY and I hated it.

Some people can get some enjoyment out of Lair but I cant - Its not a very good game.

In this century and next generation of programming I find delays like this unacceptable! Maybe a lag of one month (max) release from the US to the rest of the world wouldn't be too bad (with the exception of Japanese games that need language translations, of course!). But come on now, it may be a bad game but what would the reason be for a late delay? Are they improving the gameplay or somehow making it better? I can't see this game being popular in the UK, Europe and definitely not in Australia! We'd rather be rockin' or shootin'.

i really hope for this hame top be somehow remade and they fix the controlling and frame rate issues on the europian release!! if i was song i would release it in europe only when its ready and no one will complain about the controls, and i think they should make an option to use the analog!! personally if the motion sensing is good then i will choose that other wise the analog!!

We havent even gotten a demo in the US yet and it really needs one to convince people it's not as bad as some people say. Hopefully the delay has something to do with tightening up the gameplay in a patch that the US will get too so that it's undeserved reputation can be fixed.

I live in europe and i already have this game and its been out for some time now so what is this about ?? oh and the reviews don't ever read gamespot or IGN or GT for what i have been hearing MS has been paying sites to put there games high and any other like wii or ps3 low only sometimes not all the time but im sure that Lair is not a 4.5 i would say a 8 or 8.5 no higher then that but about the unable to play it that is not true like i said i have the game and its been out sometime now here in europe aswell the game is playable it works fine you just need to learn how to play something that maybe the reviewers are not good at.

i own all 3 Consoles im not trying to say that everything is not true but for what i have seen it is if not you go and see if any ps3 game that is out has a 9 or 10 and call of duty 4 does not count that is only one what about ROFM a 8 0_0

my god what a load of bull!!! MS do not pay game sites to give bad reviews, neither do sony nor nintendo. i can't believe the paraniod cr@p that some of you spout!!! sometimes a great game will get one or two bad reviews and sometimes a bad game will get one or two good reviews just like lair did!

It was pulled from the shelves in the UK due to certification issues. In the UK it has a BBFC rating of 15, but to sell it the 15 symbol also has to be printed on the disk. In the UK this was not the case so basically it's a disk labelling errorin the UK which is pretty poor in my opinion.

Uh...really? I was at Tesco in Bathgate today getting some stuff and they were selling it...was gonna pick it up but even at £34.97 (i think) it's still too much for a "meh" game...however, if you're not too sure, nip to your local Tesco and have a look, you might get lucky.

Having said that, it clearly shows that Sony have already shipped the game they've just changed the release date so it doesn't clash with too many big name games (Assassins Creed, Lego Star Wars, Smackdown) now all it has to contend with is Kane & Lynch (not gonna buy for a while due to the "no online co-op") and Need for Speed...

Right I've phoned around a few stores in the UK and contacted a few friends in Europe I know, France, Holland, Sweeden, Spain, Itally, Germany AND Great Britain ALL have Lair currently on their shelves. Their is NO disk printing error at all with regards to age certification in Great Britain, as confirmed by my local Game store. In short this story is unmitigated rubbish, complete tripe, false, not true, lies or worse for any journalist just not researched properly or dare I say at all. Very poor.
