Leaked Assassin's Creed 2 footage slips into view

An 11 second clip of Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed 2 has made its way to the Internet, showcasing brief footage of the game's new main character, Ezio.

According to Ubisoft, Ezio is a nobleman turned assassin. Wielding dual hidden blades with access to a number of other weapons, Ezio sells his soul for revenge, bringing death to the members of rival families that killed Ezio's loved ones.

Check out the clip -- which is probably a slice of Assassin Creed 2's E3 09 trailer -- below.

    @1: Yes the gameplay was rather... dull after 30 minutes of the same thing, but there's no doubting that the story was fantastic and so was the setting. Hopefully the larger amounts of mission types will keep the grind to a minimum.

    How was the story "fantastic"?  They took a perfectly fine idea (being an assassin in a interesting time of the past) and flushed it down the toilet with that contrived "yes, but its all from memory...IN THE FUTURE PRESENT DAY!!1!11!"  BS.    WTF?

    Plus, the gameplay was horrid and buggy after the first 20 minutes.

    How is that "fantastic"?

    Assassin's Creed appealed to me in such an amazing way, it's impossible for any other game to equal, let alone surpass the way I felt. I was hooked since the very first trailer; I will willingly buy every single addition to this franchise. Every sequel, spin-off, iteration and remake - no matter how boring, awful, repetitive or cheesy - is guaranteed to earn my money. I couldn't possibly use mere words to describe the way this game appealed to me. But I tried.

    Ubisoft Montreal own my soul.

    Plus, the game was horrid and buggy after the first 20 minutes.-quote

    Fixed, a distinction toward GAME ("gameplay") and cut scene (or story) is unnecessary, just refer to them as such (you think admins would try to enforce some sensibility instead of just censorship; this is similar to the situation with comic books which combine art, as in drawings or illustrations, and literature, you only refer to these pieces as the writing and illustrations, not bookread and illustrations). The difference would be that the writing and illustrations are necessary for comics but cut scenes are, in most cases, superfluous for video games, the MGS games being the comic books of video games, lol,  though purity can bear greater fruit (I prefer the cut scene-less MGO as opposed to MGS4; you can look at the greatest forms of art or writing to see where I am coming from).

    Yes the game was rather... dull after 30 minutes of the same thing, but there's no doubting that the story was fantastic and so was the setting.-quote

    Fixed and the cut scenes don't change the fact that the GAME was dull according to you (I didn't play much of the first Assassin's Creed).

    Beasley2K That is some retarded consumer reasoning lol.

    • 10:00pm BST - May 31st, 2009

    lol game play was definitely repetitive after awhile, but i do agree that the story was great!

    @9, doesn't that make a good story then? Instead of getting just a story with an assassin in the past, we get a story of present day science experiment on a guy who is a decendent of an assassin from the past. Can you not see how appealing that would be to a game designer where basically they can take the game anywhere they want now?

    Also if you're going to try and argue a point with someone, don't use something they say as a way to back up your statements. Atleast, not in the way you do  - total fail -

    Its funny how people think that just cause the first suck the second will as well. Maybe the second will suck, but heck why not give it a chance, the game isnt even close to realease, and we have close to no information on it. Ubisoft even acknoledged what people critized the first game on and is spending a lot of resources to fix those problems such as repitativity and etc. So why keep comparing the first to the second?

    @Varsh

    You must be an absolute defunct. You just made my point,  AGAIN. Answer the question already or move on.

    BTW, "PLUS" tends to denote an ADDITION to a point, topic or general conversation. You have to be about 10 years old.

    @LogGanados

    Good point. Unlike others, you make a clear, concise and non-DB point of view. I respect that.

    @A-Haa

    Aside from you probably being Varsh using another name, you are clearly such an infant that it would actually be a waste of my time verbally destroying you. Literally.Too.Easy.

    My point it, part 2 could be good. Heck, I dont know. Its just that the 5 second clip showed nothing and it looked as lame as part 1. I do not care what you say, AC1 was horrible. Trying to make it anything else is just buyers remorse gone awry.
