Legend of Spyro: Darkest Hour to hit this year?

Who is your favorite dragon that knows how to burn those sheep into nothing but crispy delight? Spyro without a doubt is the only one capable of being the answer to that very question.

EB Games and GameStop have officially started taking pre-orders for the lovable dragon for its upcoming title, Legend of Spyro: Darkest Hour. They currently have the listed price at $49.99 which happens to be $10 cheaper than usual retail launches. The game is expected to release in October, so you may be able to catch a glimpse of this title at the upcoming Game Developer Conference next week.

The title is supposedly going to be a multi-platform release for the PlayStation 2 and 3 as well as the Nintendo Wii and DS. This apparently leaves the 360 owners out of the fire breathing fun once again.

    Depends on who's doing I suppose. Insomniac, who did th first games on teh PS1 are busy with Resistance 2.

    I liked Spyro: Year of the Dragon on the original PlayStation. If this is just half as good, it should be worth buying.

    One of the reasons I love PlayStation is the unparalleled balance between hardcore and casual games. It's a lot more interesting seeing a wide variety of games even if I'm not going to play them all.

    spyro is good only with insomniac. riptos rage one of the best games of all time. one of the highlights of my childhood

    psn id: gingo... since insomniac sold the spyro name it just hasn't been as good unsurprisingly so probably wont be picking this up

    hopefully this should turn out to be pretty good game, as long as they don't cut back on the ps3 version in terms of realisticness and what not, and as long as it's fun, keeps me interested and actually better than the origionals then i'm in :D

    spyro, this game surely does bring back memories, i loved the original one, just hope this spyro is just as good

    But if Insomniac didnt have anything to do with this title, then Im going to have to hold on to my exitement, until further investigation.

    Some sources list diffrent consoles than this. And Insomniac never sold the franchise, they never owned it to begin with.

    To bad Insomniac doesnt make this game anymore.... then id be interested.
