Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has announced that LittleBigPlanet will be released in the UK on November 5, 2008.

The news comes following yesterdays confirmation that the game would arrive “no later” than the week commencing November 3.  The title was delayed last Friday due to controversy surrounding the discovery of a reference to the Qu’ran in the game’s soundtrack.

Interestingly, the new release date puts SackBoy's charismatic outing on store shelves just two days ahead of Epic Games' Gears of War 2 on Xbox 360.

Our review of LittleBigPlanet can be read here.

Weird how that ended up in the sound track in the first place, but it's nice to see that Sony took action so quickly.

I really don't care about gears of war 2, if I did I would own a cr@pbox which I don't. Any way, we're getting resistanc 2 and killzone 2 which ar gonna be way better than gears 2 but MS wont be gettieng anything as cute, original and as excellent as LBP!

if the games are in the retailers already, why push it back 2 weeks? Couldn't they just use the patch straight away?  Surely it doesn't take 2-3weeks to do that.

    The whole thing is pathetic...

Why do we have to censor everything to keep the Muslims happy? It seems to me that the terrorists have won.

The terrorists havent won.  We just dont want to offend the people that are not terrorists.  If you knew anything about the extremists, you would know they dont want anything to do with western culture, even as a Sony product, its still western in their eyes.  I dont think they even have a whole lot attached to western culture, they shun us, and they shun video games because they believe it defies the message of Allah.

So why not release the normal little big planet for anyone who isn't small minded and then release a little big planet 'middle east' version for anyone who doesn't want to hear their beloved quran in one background song?

To be honest im sick of all this political correctness, the world has gone mad, and what really gets me is that the bl00dy muslims (amongst others) hate the west yet most of them live there............go figure, if you want to live in another country you should addapt and accept the way they do things, not moan and casue a fuss the first time you find something even mildly offensive. Ban religion i say, its caused nothing but wars and missery for millions over the years

A lot of what non-Muslims do can be viewed as offensive to Muslims.  Most Muslims though are reasonable, tolerant people who understand there are differences between cultures and religions.
I am sure this tolerant majority would not be offended if people played this game - if it offended them on a personal level then they simply wouldn't expose themselves to it.

I think this is a major overreaction from Sony.

i think its strange that muslims desperatly want to be veiwed as peaceful people but the slightest thing can set them off. just look at what happended when a danish cartoonist drew "muhamed" the danish embassy got destroyed and there was violent demonstrations. but no those muslims are peaceful man. right? im surprised the media molecule offices havent been blown up yet. or they could make some sack boys then burn them, shout nonsense and throw rocks like savages. i dont get it . are they like a wife beater that looks for any reason to smack his wife? arent there much bigger issues in the world for them to focus on? why is something as trivial as religion hindering a video game? have they played any of the gta series? i think they need to chill the f**k out and realize no one gives two s**ts about there precious religion. (:<{) <------ look i drew muhamed! lol

i'm tired of yall people disrespecting muslims for starters all muslims are not terrorists. if any religion was disrespected in any kind of way the same actions would have been handle in the same way. just like if the song would have said the jews killeed Jesus lets burn the jews every jew around the globe would wont the game band.

@16-i'm not disrespecting muslims. its all based of fact. just watch the news and you'll see for yourself. another thing is that the lyrics in question arent inflamitory its just the fact that they dont want them in there. secondly im not saying all muslims are terrorists but its hard not to think they are when you see reactions from things like this.

@ princevegeta 1980 your hatred towards the xbox is no different to the muslims hatred towards the west, the only difference is that all you do is post pathetica online because your a tosspot, and the muslims get a soon2be multi million selling game banned for several weeks from the comfort of a mud hut

Cant believe how stupid some of these people on this site are....

Listen, when the lyrics were reported the person/people requesting the removal of the song asked for an online patch that would remove it, NOT A RECALL. It was Sony's decision to do the recall because of the fact that not everyone is connected to PSN.

so, all this ridiculous bigotry can stop now, right? (wishful thinking)

oh well I guess we're used to it but delayed till 31st October, then 3rd November, then 5th Novermber. OMG.

But nice strategy from Sony to release it 2 days before GoW2

Muslim behaviour examples of PC gone mad. Muslim gets a job in tesco's and when he has to stack or move some alcohol, not drink it but just move it he refuses then tries to sew the store because hes asked to do something against his religion, maybe he should have looked into his place of work and what they sell before he took it on. Case 2 a muslim is refused a hairdressing job because she wont work without a head dress on, so the poor hair dresser who ownes the business has to go to court and loose thousands of pounds because this particular person is offended when in reality it was a perfectly reasonable request.
