Ah the falling blocks genre. Long time no see. According to the official PlayStation Asia website (brought to you courtesy of Siliconera), Q Entertainment's Lumines Supernova will appear on PlayStation Network this November. Exact regional release dates are presumably to follow.

Supernova reprises the addictive formula that sold so many North American PlayStation Portables back in 2005. As in Tetris, blocks descend continually from the top of the screen, and the player's job is to obliterate the lot by matching blocks of the same colour. Unlike Tetris, matched blocks remain on-screen until a time-line moving left to right passes over them, with the trick being to assemble as many combinations as possible before it does.

Q Entertainment has cooked up a "user-friendly and easy-to-understand" track editor this time round, together with a new 20-stage "Dig Down" mode. You can expect the usual pant-wettingly stylish background graphics.

I used to love Lumines when I bought it for PSP back in 2005, but then for some stupid reason I traded it in! I'll definately be purchasing this once it hits the UK store.
