BIA: Hell's Highway 'Realism' trailerThe obesity epidemic in America seems to always be one of the hot button issues; however, never would we have imagined that this would occur. Fast food legends, McDonald’s, has just pointed the finger at gaming for being a major contributor to childhood obesity.
Steve Easterbrook, CEO of McDonald’s UK, believes that the restaurant business has a role in the problem, but points the finger mainly at gaming.
“The issue of obesity is complex and is absolutely one our society is facing, there’s no denial about that,” said Easterbrook. “But if you break it down I think there’s an education piece: how can we better communicate to individuals the importance of a balanced diet and taking care of themselves?” – Did you try to stop and think about not serving 1,300 calorie value meals to kids?
He then followed that up with, “Then there’s a lifestyle element: there’s fewer green spaces and kids are sat home playing computer games on the TV when in the past they’d have been burning off energy outside.”
PSU is now highly anticipating the partnership between Jack Thompson and McDonald’s to bring justice and gym memberships to all in the video gaming world.

LOL can i have a large fries with that!!!!!!!!!
psn id: gingo... to be honest i dont think mcdonalds or gaming causes obesity i think its the fat kids who are too lazy to do any exercise and eat to much that is the problem but nobody should get the blame for someones laziness
news of the year
Oh my God, thats crazy!!!
great, something for hillary clinton to soil her shorts over
kettle.pot.black
i play videogames , i eat junk food and yet im still fit. How?Easy, i am carefull of my diet and i do eat junk food just not EVERY day , but i do exercise EVERY day.People get fat because they are lazy to move their butts off the chair and do some exercise for 1 -2 hours daily. That coupled with eating junk food every single day.
Look at me I play games but I'm not fat, quite the opposite I am very physically fit with great abs mind blowing biceps and an incredibly rock hard butt. You’ve got to see it to believe it.
wow... just... WOW... stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
DaveW , there are very very few cases in which metabloism is different between people. The thing is how are those people were nurished when they were kids , and what did their parents do to avoid having a kid with a slow metabolism. My mother (!!) always taught me this simple thing : eat 4 times a day , small , good healthy meals.Dont overdo it.But eat 4 times a day at least.Do some work out ,do sports , go to gym 1 hour a day. That way your metabolism is always fast. And you are burning calories like mad.
People who think that "im going to go on a diet and i will eat 1 meal a day" will never EVER get any thinner.Eat many small and healthy meals is the best way to have a good died , get thin and stay fit.People think the less i eat the less i get fat.Right and wrong at the same time.Your body needs to eat several meals daily , just not ridiculous amounts of crap food.
Don't blame on videogames blame the 6od dang PARENTS for not being responsible...
hmm mcdonalds is that why im so skinny. its the parents and fast food.
McDonalds hate fat ppl, but they hire them like their is no tommorrow!
Hahaha. This is like when a USA representant tried to put the blame on China after being accused of being the worlds biggest polluter.
USA and McDonalds. You are the scapegoats in these two cases. Stop trying to put the blame on others. Take responsibility for the harm you are causing!
Over and out from the locale of all knowledge and wisdom:... Europe.
"PSU is now highly anticipating the partnership between Jack Thompson and McDonald’s to bring justice and gym memberships to all in the video gaming world."
LOL!!!
Yes because it's totally safe for them to run around outside with the state of society and safety in our country now. What if they live in the middle of a heavily populated urban environment? Run around in the streets?
wow hahhaa i play alot of games and im not obese
Parents are to blame! McDonalds as well!
HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMG LMFAO (breath),(breath) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
wow that's g@Y!!
ill take the call of duty 4 with a controller and fries. and ill think supersize that. lol
god you think they would of come up with something else just cus theere now failing.
the question is how many people eat and play at the same time.
I play video games & I'm not fat. I never eat at McD or any F. FF
I play video games & I'm not fat. I never eat at McD or any F. FF
killuminati
lmao. no it's the restraunt buisneses fault. i've worked at jack in the box and seen how the food is made. there's a shyt load of fat in the food from the grease and salt. don't blame other industrys mcdonalds. stop superzizing shyt. lol i have seen people walk in there that we have should of refused to serve them food.
LOL! I play much, and I would rather eat their receipts than their "food"!
If you go buy a cheeseburger you eat 330 calories. By ordinary walking you loose 0,475 calories times your weight per kilometer. That will mean if a 70 kilo man walked 1 kilometer he would loose 33,25 calories. Which will take approx. 10 kilometers to loose a cheeseburger from McDonalds.
Now, the body is always burning calories. Even when you sleep - not many, but it do. Using a controller burn more calories than sitting down normally. And you don't take in calories by touching the controller either, so it's impossible to blame computer gaming.
PS. And McDonalds IS NOT A RESTAURENT! It's an eating place! It's a disgrace to call McDonalds a restaurent.
do they really have any room to talk?
well all imma say is "Super Size Me" was a good movie, but sorry Mcdonalds isnt my type of real food(they recently(1-2yrs) started putting real meat? o.o)....BURGER KING ALL THE WAY! rofl.
lol its there food
i had a quaterpounder the other day and it was almost 800 calories and thats not including the meal
videogames do play a toll in it but its the food & portions bottom line
Never have I seen more comments on a topic than this one. We should all exchange diet tips on other posts too.
As far as I'm concerned its all about balance. Eating sensibly and in moderation. I don't see how blaming McDonalds or video games has anything to do with how we look. Nobody puts a gun to our heads, we choose to eat these types of food we choose to play on video games we make it our lifestyle. Makes me laugh when a fat b@5t@rd tries to sue McD just because he chose to eat their meals five times a day.
FYI I go to the gym four times a week eat whatever I want and spend at least an hour a day on my PS3 and computer.
Well, Im not going to mcdonalds the next time Im out.
hilarious stuff !
'Video games are the cause of all problems!' i expect they'll start a cult.
Let's see Give me two no.9's a No. 4 with extra chesse. Two number 45's with a large coke. Three number 99's with extra grease and some large french fries.
Oh and some honey mustard.
retards
Wow,what will they think of next, might as well blame videogames for global warming, increased terrorism, political corruption, and let's not forget that videogames were the cause of 9/11,right?
I want a gym membership! then i can work out then go home and play video games
p.s.- i could eat a whole bag of doritos playing cod4 all day and sitll be fit at 143 with abs. All it is, is excersize its parents faults for not getting their kids into sports at an early age. Don't blame video games, because people like me still play sports like crazy and then play video games alot, its just a balance that retards don't understand.
thats the funniest thing ive ever heard. do u know how much sh** is in that gross food.
Wow, so what was the reason for obese people before videogames????
Gaming doesn't have calories, french fries do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mc Donald’s has a deal with Nintendo that allows DS users to access their wireless hotspots, so they are only shooting themselves on the foot.
Why don't we stop pointing fingers at the easy targets and start pointing fingers at our fat kids and their fat parents. It's not McDonald's fault, but if lazy parents didn't feed their kid's that gross, nutrition lacking, processed crap 8 to 10 times a week, and made it a "treat" less than once a week, then we wouldn't have a problem. I've known lots of hard-core gamers that are not obese because they eat right.
wow how ridiculous a statment is that, You know if they didnt make triple cheese burgers and crap people wouldnt have anything to make them fat, they'd just sit around playing video games and eating carrot sticks. Well maybe not something that healthy but seriously its not like the game is telling a kid to eat fice slices of chocolate cake a day.
Y'see...thsi is why i don't give money to McDonalds...they serve you a lovely high calorie McSpit Burger and then tell you it's your video games that are making you a fatass...no it's because you serve crap food and i then don't excercise it off properly...sheesh...if vidoegames make you fat I had better stop my mate from playing them...that marathon session of Oblivion might stop him being the Scottish Tae-Kwon-Do champion again...NOT!!!!
Sure, sure....
You need to run flat out for 50km, do 243 pushups, and swim 27 laps at an Olympic swimming pool just to burn off the fat contained in one cheese burger.
Even so the steroids, antibiotics, and chemical additives will still shrink your nuts to the size of a pea and give you big girly breasts. No amount of excercise can totaly save you from Fatdonalds.
McDonalds is a HUGE...no pun intended...reason for Obesity, high blood pressure and heart disease. There is 1600 mg of sodium in 1 quarter pounder with cheese. Something to the effect of 35g of fat and 800 calories. Thats just the burger. A single at that. Add in a large fry at a whopping 2000mg of sodium and you have more than your entire days intake of sodium in that one meal. You have your daily amouont of fat as well. Try not making your burgers taste like salt lick, and use a higher grade of meat in your products. That way these kids dont need to run an Ironman every day to keep up with the amount of calories and fat are in your horrid food.
Read the article before you post people. I actually applaud mr. Easterbrook for what he said. He basically said that it is the parents' fault for not taking responsibility and actually watching what you're kids eat. He in no way blamed the videogame industry for obesity. He simply said the truth; that kids no longer get out as much and that videogames play a part in that. It's not a pretty picture, but it's at least true.
Wow. What bullcrap. Kids that dont get out much and play video games doesnt make them obese nor eat food with super high fat n calories.
What a dumb claim but this heart disease making company.
McDonald's menu is not the problem.....................OK blame it on something else, LOL!
Its a combination of both i suppose lol.
I blame Mc'D for putting a their resturants on every block so my fat slow gamer as$ can walk to
Oh this is rich, so god damn rich. I started laughing uncontrollably when I saw the title.
Yeah kids, get out and burn some calories so when you do get hungry, you can stop by your local McDonalds and pack some more pounds on. I'm pretty sure I game or sit at a computer anytime I'm not in college, and I'm not obese. You burn more fat gaming than you do at McDonalds. At least you have games like DDR to burn some sort of calories rather than shoving overpriced, grease-pit food down your throat.
I guess they weren't making enough off the medium fries being $1 so now we get small fries instead.
---
I love the irony though, of most McDonalds having video games inside their building. I see a lot of controllers, but I sure don't see DDR.
Think about it, you cannot live without either. MD's while playing in a competition is teh awesomeness.
Stop blaming games! Movies are much worse, and movies isnt a problem, so stop blaming games for bad things that hapens!
