Media Molecule talks LittleBigPlanet PSP

Speaking to Eurogamer as part of a soon-to-be published interview, Media Molecule co-founder Mark Healey has suggested that the company's upcoming LittleBigPlanet will put in an appearance on PlayStation Portable.

"There's definitely scope for a PSP version," Healey declared. "We've had discussions and talks, [but] nothing concrete at the moment."

For obvious reasons it's unlikely the handheld will get a fully-featured re-run of the PlayStation 3 version - out on October 24 - but Healey claimed that "companion products" were definitely on the cards.

"It'd be great to make - for the people who are really into the Create side - some kind of companion products that allow you to create things while you're on the train," he said. "One thing that I'd love to add is the ability to create you're own music, for example, that you can import into the game. That seems like an obvious one to do and it'd be quite easy really."

It's probable that PSP game development would be handled externally; with Healey commenting "we're very keen to keep this very tight core of people."

Character/object creation and of course the mentioned music creation would be good, maybe even a level layout design tool, which would give you the basic mappings before you take it home and create it on your PS3

sounds like a great idea. I could spend my hour train journey creating the basics for when I get on the PS3.

Miniture creations seem to be the obvious route here.. Ie. Create you're own sounds, individual items, and more importantly, your own Sackboy on the go! Don't make it a stand alone UMD, instead, maybe a realistic idea is to have it available via PSN for maybe a few quid? If that!

Making perhaps an editor would be interesting, and then submitting the layout from the editor from the psp to the ps3.

Create things while you're on the train?  Who are they marketing this to, Hobos?  ;p  Actually, I guess hobos got all the time in the world to create things for LittleBigPlanet.  They should actually make a hobo character for LBP :)

This would boost psp sales a bit. LBP has so many things to offer that a dont know what else i'd want, except for the Water element for the PS3 version, that would be awesome.

I think a better idea would be to get a full fledged remote play in place, and then add some remote play exclusive features in the mix.

This is definitely good for the Sony PSP and it'll for sure boost sales increasingly. I would more than likely be picking this title up whenever its release.
