Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe announced

Midway announced today the latest instalment in its highly successful Mortal Kombat series, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.
As the name implies, this latest entry in the popular brawler will include characters from the DC Comics universe, with Batman having already been confirmed via the teaser image below.
Further details are unknown at this point, although Kotaku is reporting that the game will apparently not contain any fatalities and have “little-to-no blood.”
Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

I hope that game is the Wii version or an spin off.
I renember when they announced the countdown that the new universe will be made "a la Batman Begins" but I didn't expect that litterally :S

Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe doesn't work for me (for now at least) it's as weird as Yoda and Vader appearing in SC4. I've just thought of the ultimate crossover, Mortal Kombat, Spawn and Devil May Cry possibly Angel (the Buffy spin-off) as well (please add to this). It would work best as a Shaolin Monks style fighter

well that's an idea but i'm not sure about it being a good one, i'll just wait and see how tha gameplay comes along especially when there aren't any good fighting games on ps3 for the moment!

The fatalities defined the series so why take it out? there was nothing like ripping Johnny Cages spinal cord out with Sub Zero (I admit i am behind the times with the series).
Possible Batman fatality: Robin appears and bores the opponent till their inner ear implodes, scattering his brain everywhere. Class.

umm, the update says that its in 2D, so that's mean that its another game besides MK8. Renember that Boon said that MK8 uses the Unreal Engine.
So that's mean for sure that this game is for wii (or multiplataform) and the Mk8 its only PS3/360.

what bs is that. PSU has been TOLD that the game is in 2D, and it says its a rumour lol. also, they need to do another marvel Vs capcom game. now dat would be next gen gaming ;)

Why even bother? The biggest reason why most people enjoy the MK series are for the blood and fatalities. And WHY the DC universe, can't they pick a more something in their own league? Superman can easily own all, and i'm a huge MK fan. Perhaps IMAGE comics back in the days, y'know, with Spawn, Savage Dragon, Pit, etc. Just hope that Batman is just a guest character, seein as how he IS mortal... the game is called Mortal Kombat for a reason.

this would be crap.Ever since marvel vs.capcom 2 came out everyone was waiting for years for a marvel vs. capcom 3 but it never came...so if they was going to make a company vs. company game it would most likely be Marvel vs. DC. DC Rules Go!!!! Superman and Supergirl lol

WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE TODAY? i was just reading online about the history of violence in videogames, and violence sells. the sega genisis version of MK2 sold twice the number of copys than the snes version, dispite the genisis version having inferior graphics and sound. you know why? the genisis version had a code to turn on blood, while the snes version was without blood at all.
when are developers going to start treating videogames as an art instead of being submisive to Tipper Gore.

This is utter BS.....mortal kombat itself needs fixing before they can dream of mixing with other universe characters. I would much rather see a Marvel vs. DC fighter (MvC2 style) before hearing about some pile of sh!t they are announcing here. The people who make the final decission for MK must really be at the end of their ropes to let a hair brain numb nutz idea like this pass aproval.....heck I have a good one why not "Mortal Kombat vs. Bikini Bottom Universe"...cause right now anything seems like it could fly with Midway.

The 1st trailer is over at www.gamesradar.com. It is in 3D, appears to have some blood (very little), not sure about Fatalities. Can you really see DC allowing Superman to have his head ripped off. Don't think so.
I really hope this is not the re-imagining that they've been talking about.
If Midway wish to make a DC beat-em-up, then fine. Just leave out the MK characters.
What's next...a PG version of GTA. -
