Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has confirmed that Evolution Studios’ highly anticipated MotorStorm: Pacific Rift will hit stores across North America on October 28.

Set in a tropical environment, Pacific Rift features a number of highlights such as real-time terrain deformation, online multiplayer, in addition to a total of eight different vehicle classes.

A European release date has yet to be announced, though online retailers indicate that the game will hit shops on or around November 14.

I'm glad that the game isn't out until November in Europe because I wouldn't have been able to afford it in October anyway! I really want to try this game out - some of the demo impressions are like "omg this is so good" while others are saying how dissapointed they are (I'm just going from peoples comments on websites here). I was hoping that I was one of the randomly selected people in the UK / EU to recieve the demo but I'm not that lucky!

I played the demo for this last night and it's great.  Just like MotorStorm 1, but a lot more folliage :)  Also, the demo has the split screen multiplayer.  The demo also let's you pick the monster truck class which is faster than I thought it would be, but there wasn't much stuff to take out, like a watch tower, or something like that.  My only gripe is when you're on a bike trying to punch people off their bikes, you don't use square like you did in the first one.  You use L1 to hit left and R1 to hit right and this can be a problem when trying to accellerate with R2.  Other than that, it was everything I expected it would be.  I can't wait.

Is possible to not use r2 as the accellerator? I was so hyped about getting this game but after playing the "pure" demo, which I think is fantastik, Im not too sure now. I saw a trailer of actual gameplay and I didn't see much improvement compared to the first motorstorm, am I wrong?

Cant wait for this and lets bet the demo isnt available here in the UK, it is a busy few months coming up for PS3 fans but I have restricted myself cough cough to the following pre orders LBP, Resistance 2, Motorstorm PR and Killzone 2

@4  In the demo it doesn't let you go into options and mess around with controls, or even sound and music levels.  In the full version it might though.  Pure was a pretty good demo, but after playing this, I like this more.  If I had money I'd probably get both, but Motorstorm 2 will have a larger selection of vehicles than Pure.  Of course I did like the way you had to pull off tricks in Pure to get to do better tricks.  I honestly didn't think much of Pure before I played the demo.  Just goes to show you what a demo can do for a game that might not sell that well.  Of course the opposite can also hold true (Haze).

Well I'm glad to say that I to was able to play the demo and guess what,......................... I was honestly dissapointed. I honestly think something is missing, and I think that might be the FUN factor! Don't get me wrong, this is a good game but I didn't get as much fun out of it that I did with Pure, it's nice to see it doesn't take 10mins to choose your vehicule like in the original.
