Electronic Arts has announced that it will be bringing Need for Speed Undercover to European shores on November 21, 2008.
Touted as a return to the series roots, Undercover has players cast in the shoes of an unnamed police officer, who must infiltrate notorious crime syndicate located in the game’s fictional setting of Tri-City.
Gamers will be aided in their progress by Need for Speed girl Chase Linh (played by Maggie Q, who appeared in movies such as Die Hard 4.0, Mission Impossible III), a federal agent who acts as your only link back to HQ.
Need for Speed Undercover is due for release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PC, Xbox 360, Wii and DS.

Need for Speed was good (note the WAS) but its just the same thing over and over again, you'll have to start out as a nobody, earn some rep points, make it big and be king of the road; along the way you will earn cash to beef up your car. oooh aaah, same $hit, different title

@2 Same can be said for shooting games. How many different ways can you point, aim, kill and move on to the next level? Or football games, how many different ways can you kick a ball and recreate a game? Example- How many Fifa or PES games has there been?
Anyway, I'll anticipate this title.. NFS has always been my favourite raciun game, with all the minted customisation options available, it keeps me happy for hours just modifyin one car to sheer perfection, the races are just incentive to get more cars :D

@2 yeah..... but when developers change a series to avoid it being the same game over and over then people complain that its cr@p cause its changed!!!! (ie Burnout Paradise which personally I think is fantastic but got a lot of flack for being different to the original series) they cant win.

I will not get a game that will come out to PS2, PSP, Wii and DS as well. I have nothing against games which appears on both PS3 and 360 but when low-end consoles like DS and Wii gets the game, it will probably not be as well written and customized for the high-end PS3 as other racing games.
No buy!

NFS lost its magic when it went to the track and off the streets. Think its a good plan going back to its roots and good police chase sounds like fun, might play this one for longer than 2 days then traded it like i did with PROstreet.

This one looks a LOT like NFS MW,which imo is the smartest way to move the series in the right direction, that game got the focus BACK on illegal Street racing(in a better and funner way),rather than customizing your ride looks wise, like in Underground.I just hope psp this time gets a full fledged port.

NFS better be tok back. to the streets cause porstreet was garbage. the sad part is i bought the car add-ons to try to make it funner. i'm not with the trading in my game for the same amount of money TAXs was add to the price of the game. another thing they better let you use the cars you paid for on this new NFS cause if they dont i'm not buying this game just to win the same cars over.

it better be just like most wanted cuz that has by far been the best game, and that was the LAST actually good NFS game, and judging me the colour of the picture, i think it will be like most wanted, havent we been an undercover cop befor though?..unless im thinking of driver.... +

need for speed pro street sucked, i hope they learned there lesson and giving the game a real story line and police chases. i was addicted to carbon and did have a seizure because of that game. infinite nos, lots of lights may cause seizures. lol i serously hope this will be a good game. they need to make this game into a movie already oh wait fast and the furious already did it.

To me the last real NFS was Hot Pursuit 2, Underground was just a novelty. Most Wanted tried to fix it but failed. Prostreet was ****. If they want to return to the roots then ditch the crappy Underground driving physics make more realistic ones, leave out the "tuner" ricing cars and put REAL sport cars there. Im not against "open world" racing games in fact I believe that "open world" is the right step, but heck if you're gonna do it, do it right. Most games I've seen have a cr@ppy road layout because they focus the layout on being challenging instead of being realistic. The best "Open world" road layout I've seen is the one on Test Drive Unlimited(which I think has a more pure NFS heritage than the new NFSs). I think NFS should follow TDU's steps and improve upon it.

The last good NFS was Hot Pursuit 2, but it wasn't even the best though. Personally I missed the old style of NFS those point to point races they felt longer, and the cops were much tougher. Like in NFS:III swear sometimes I never thought those races would end.
Got one more question whatever happened to the fun cheat codes like big heads. Sorry just had to say that.
