If you are tired of loading a disc into your PlayStation 3 to stream Netflix content, you’ll be happy to know that starting Oct. 18, you can throw out those discs. Netflix subscribers will get a native application on their XMB to stream videos without a disc, a feature we are quite happy about since we lost our disc a few weeks ago.
In addition, Netflix and Dolby Laboratories today announced that PS3s will be the first consumer electronics device to support 5.1-channel surround sound on movies and TV shows streamed from Netflix.
Look for an increase in content soon, in addition to available 1080p resolution, improved time to start playback, and a new user interface.
