Bethesda’s Paul Oughton has revealed that the publisher is hoping to release its next instalment in the popular Elder Scrolls series some time in 2010.

"At the moment we've got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there's a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010," said Oughton.

He also confirmed that the company is focusing the entirety of its efforts on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 platforms, stating it is “not that interested” in Nintendo Wii.

"At the moment we're not that interested in the Wii. We're going to stick to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. We'll continue to pursue three or four titles a year and go for big titles," he said of the company's publishing plans for the future,” he explained.

"We've seen games selling in the past 18 months that we never thought we'd see. We wouldn't have thought that pet games and cooking games would have a viable market five years ago. No publisher would have taken those products on.”

The most recent entry in the Elder Scrolls saga, Oblivion, was released for Xbox 360 and PC in 2006 to universal acclaim and was subsequently ported to PlayStation 3 the following year.

    Oh yes!

    However I hope those Oblivion style gates or whatever the substitute will be are more varied and fun.

    And a more naturilised method or talking to people, that head and shoulders bit got old quickly.

    In short, I hope they listen to the reviewers and make V even better.

    @4

    I'm not sure what you mean? Fallout 3 launched on both platforms. Is it alot better on 360? I don't care either way, I will get it on PC. I'm just glad the mentioned this, as I've been waiting to hear about it.

    @6  I heard the PC version of Fallout 3 has a bunch of bugs that the 360 and PS3 version don't have.  Just thought I'd warn ya.  I got it on PS3 the other day b/c LittleBigPlanet was sold out and I really wanted a new game to play.  Even though I still want LBP, this game is loads of fun.  Only real bug with it is it freezes up when your friends come online, so I don't sign online when I'm playing it.  Other than that, it's kind of nervewracking trying to find stuff to heal me when I get hurt.  The Stimpaks cost too much and don't heal you enough IMO.  It's not that the game is hard, it's just I'm always worried about what I've got left to heal myself that it gets in the way of the fun of killing stuff.  I spend all of my money I found on stupid Stimpaks and I still end up running out!  Maybe it's just the way I got my character set up.  Still a great game though.  As for another Elder Scrolls, WONDERFUL! :)  I just hope I don't get stuck as a vampire again :/  VAMPIRES SUCK!
