New details on EA Sports' forthcoming soccer outing FIFA 09 have surfaced in a recent interview with the game’s producer, David Rutter.
Speaking with Gamespot, Rutter confirmed that this latest instalment in the popular franchise would include a total of 30 leagues and 40 International teams, as well as reiterating that around 250 key changes have been made over the game's predecessor, FIFA 08.
Among the extensive list of improvements made include "responsiveness, physical play and their affect through attributes, plus the AI." Other new additions include a Custom Team Tactics Mode, allowing gamers to determine how their team plays, as well as mention of 140 attacking and 40 defensive options.
Furthermore, Rutter also confirmed the return of the Be A Pro game mode, which has now been expanded into a fully-fledged career option. “You’ll get the chance to choose or build a football player, control them for four seasons, and grow their abilities using the experience points you gain on the pitch,” he explained.
Interestingly, Rutter also promised to divulge details on "a game mode exclusive to that system," in reference to Sony’s PlayStation 3 console, later this year.
Stay tuned for further information as it becomes available.

so thats 245 changes to clubs, player names etc and 5 for actual gameplay good old EA they know how to make money from us suckers that love FIFA. Sounds synical but hey EA are good at bringing out new versions 5 seconds after the last with very little change. Mind you it does sound like they have actually been working on this one and not just re designing the front cover and adding an 09

the new game mode could be "that you can control the goalkeeper which was meant to be in last years as a trailer was released the ps3 version so my guess was it was scrapped. either that or like a manager sim mode so you watch the game est although i cant see it being that. what would be ultra cool would be" be a referee" that would be cool as you could be biased or fair and if theres like a carreer thing for ti you could get sacked if to biased. est. other than them i cant see what other game features they would make console exclusive.

Two player Career mode would be awesome. I hated the fact that my buddy and I couldn't start a manager career together.
