After a tech demo at Play.com Live presented by Patrick Redding, Game and Narrative Designer on the Ubisoft Montreal developed Far Cry 2, we asked Mr. Redding about plans for future downloadable content. Apparently, the infrastructure for future DLC is in place, and apparently some form of expansion is being planned. He also said that depending on the expansion, it might be released on another disc or via DLC methods on the consoles. However, he made clear that they're fully focused on getting the game done, and only have set structure in place to make things slightly easier when they get round to creating more content.
Redding also revealed that they're looking into Sixaxis motion technology, and are looking to their game testers to evaluate the viability of it. We actually asked him about DualShock 3 rumble support, but his answer was far more interesting than inclusion of force feedback.
Supposedly the game will have a simultaneous release on all formats, and a date may be announced in a few weeks time. He also seemed to suggest that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions look pretty much identical, and the recent builds on both consoles look far better then the tech demo he has been showing of the November build. The old build looked amazing as it was, so expect a visual feast from Far Cry 2.
Stay tuned.

Woooo! Rob Zwetsloot is my hero!
Far Cry 2 looks to be fantastic. I'm really excited to see if all their promises stack up.2
psn id: gingo... even though the first far cry wasn't great imo i am very much looking forward to this as i can see the developers learning from their mistakes and making an epic job on this one.
oh btw fendr u failed or your just bad at maths
I actually loved Far Cry 1, mostly, its just the stupid monsters spoiled it for me. They should of stuck with Human enemy's.
Far Cry is very visually impressive, and i love the healing animations and detail.
I can't wait for Far Cry 2 and I didn't even know about the game until after reading about it in the March Issue of Playstation The Official Magazine.
I have to say that I'm looking forward to Far Cry 2 more than Haze, but not more than Killzone 2 or Resistance 2. From what I read about this game, it will be a 60+ hour game and I'm definantly liking that because usually the only games that are 60+ hours long are RPG's. And what I'm liking that most about Far Cry 2 is that it's very non-linear. I wish the first Far Cry game would have come out on the PS2 because I haven't played the first one yet, but I'm still getting this game anyways.
uuuh okay what was his answer to the dualshock 3 question???
This game is going to be sooo awsome, can't wait and for the graphics being even better, can't wait. I love how the enemy chase after you if you try to run away.
Mr Moffet, he seemed to misunderstand what I asked him, so the answer he gave me when I asked about the Dual Shock 3 was, in fact, the information on the SixAxis published in this article.
more than 60 hour's gameplay for an fps, that would be a first!
Oh yeahhhh!! i'm so excited ;) There will be a number of high quality titles this year...
