Drug usage, ghastly language and dirty cops; all are essential ingredients to the Grand Theft Auto series. It's what we've expected in the past and what we can all come to expect with next month’s release of GTA IV for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. While a great amount of core details have come to light over the past 12 months, a few small tidbits continue to surface a mere month before the game’s release.
Apparently the latest issue of NUTS magazine has a hands-on preview with the game revealing the following information:
- Playing as the main character Niko will be like playing in a real life action movie filled with movie-quality explosions and immersive cut scenes.
- GTA IV will feature 18 radio stations playing a wide range of music from 80s classics to modern day R&B hits.
- It is said that to get the full experience of the city ambiance, you should take a cab and then convert to “Movie” mode where you will be switched to this cinematic camera angle that catches the city in all its glory.
- Filled with solid detail, Rockstar has made sure that the player remains on the edge of the seat with many disclosures such as a fire hydrant propelling a two-seater car into the air when ran over.
- Side-missions are still a huge part of the title, while new "collect them all" style achievements are added into the gameplay. The one being noted in the preview is "Rat with Wings." This is where Niko must eradicate the city of its pidgeon problem.
- Niko is somewhat of a player as he will continuously get random calls from various females such as a girl named Michelle, who wants to “hook up” with the game’s protagonist. It will be interesting to see where this goes but Rockstar remains closed lipped on this one.
- You will be able to shoot your opponents from all angles in the drive-by shooting mode. You will also be able to drop grenades behind you in some missions.
All of this comes as great news for those awaiting this upcoming title. Continue to follow PSU’s coverage of GTA IV all the way up to its release.

I can't beileve this game is just about a month away. Since last August GTA4 was delayed and 9 months later it's finally almost here. The anticipation is killing me.
Wow, we've got GTA 4 and GT5 Prologue in April, then we've got Haze in May, and then we've got Metal Gear Solid 4 in June. That's 4 big PS3 games (3 exclusives) in just a matter of 3 months, it doesn't get any better than this.

I have been waiting for this game since before I was waiting for San Andreas for my PS2. I knew the next one was gonna be on a next gen console, but the capabilities of the PS3 surpasses anything I was even thinking about.
With at least 100 hours of real mission game play, this will be the best one yet for sure.

I wouldn't be surprised if games already out had trophies, but we can't get them till Homes released. So lets hope this gives trophies, and it looks like they didn't screw it up. Looks like all the 360 practice the company had paid off, but it'll probably be quicker and more effiicient on the PS3.

Ya DLC, 50 Mill. I have both systems and im still getting it for the PS3. Why, simple, i dont think my 360 can run the game, im shure it will crash the system like COD4 an Oblivion dose to me. Also, I would think once Home is out there will be some nice integration with the two.

GTAIV isn't ghetto unless you feel hardcore gangster shooting animated people that you would never do in real life. GTAIV is entertainment under your control and a necessity for all gamers,,, HAHA!

I really don’t understand what you find so fun about killing people and taking drugs?! Honestly? I don’t know what sick minds can create this sort of games. Of course the majority of teenagers end up in drug rehabs when games and media make taking drugs look cool.
