New PS3 advertising images leaked

Sony has had somewhat of an impressive yet disturbing ad campaign for the PlayStation 3 to say the least. From the hovering PS3 console in an empty room to the infamous (and somewhat creepy) crying baby, the company has delivered commercials that have intrigued, shocked and down right disturbed the minds of many gamers across the globe.
Now they're taking a new direction in advertising with a more refined approach that includes a ridiculous amount of detail.
In our view, these new images below display the PlayStation 3 as the rebuilding process towards a new world of gaming, deservingly so. We've included the two advertisements below and feel free to leave your opinion on them in the comment section.

What wrong with the:
"Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen"
adverts? They seem a lot better and straight to the point

is the first picture related to the game lair by any chance? (i haven't played the game i can see dragons in it)
and the second picture (without the aliens) reminds me of resistance.
i love how the artist/designer has implemented the contoller logo's into both of the pictures, but i agree with HazdoTT if it was narrated with the camera slowly moving through moving parts and sounds of metals clanging and shouts from men/creatures working that would be very cool. -

@ Dave-the-Rave. I agree 100%. I loved those ads, I thought the visual effects along with that song was just incredible. Stick with that, Sony. Stick with that.

They kind of look like what we would expect as concept art for Fallout 3 in my opinion, and thats saying the pictures are awesome!

Why cant they have an advert where they show the games? Like the PS3 Universe one...Thats what they need. Not this type of rubbish where the advert means nothing. Potential customers want to see what the console has, not stupid stuff like this which shows nothing to do with the console.

I like more out of the box ads myself. However, usually those ads come when you have a good grasp on the market and or can really get your point across. Now these are just pics, I'm hoping there is more too it. So until I see the whole story...I will just say the pics do look cool but as stand alone picture there is no clear message.

Ok, now I'm really curious to know what these mean exactly, and more importantly what the vids show. For the first image umm... GOW3? Jk.

Awesome. I love these pictures. I think they need to step up on the TV ads though.

I like the setting but bring back the crying baby! Or make one with an old guy laughing madly as he throws spoons at a window.

Those advertisments sure do have TONS of details, lines, and textures.
Even though many thought that the PS3 baby Ad was a little bit creepy, I think that it wasn't all that bad because a commercial like that will definanlty catch your attention and you sure wont forget it.

I think it is supposed to represent the real world crumbling away as you immerse yourself into the ps3 world. The people or statues don't seem to be a part of the world they're in or at least paying attention to it.

Wow very impressive... IMO.. its showing wut the article says... a new era in gaming! look at the top pic its old medevil looking world with a old stone statue being torn down! and in the 2nd its a modern metal statue being put up! so basically its saying PLAYSTATION FTW!!!!!!
seriously if you guys have a hard time understanding something that pretty much speaks for itself then you need to put down the controller and go back to school!! or get some decent teachers that make you think outside the box and use ur immagination instead of just by the boook answers with no insight

PS3 Has had the worst advertising i have ever seen for a console. they keep trying and failing to create anonymous hype like GABBO from the simpsons. like that this is living rubbish and those freaky adverts with poodles and vaults. this looks better but still nothing like the Wii

This is a good metaphor for how the advertisement for PS3 has gone thus far (though, for the record, I think that all of the advertisements have been very intriguing and mentally stimulating) with the backdrop being something of a shamble, and the focal point being what they're trying to do now. Nothing says that there can't be beauty built from the raze of something else. So, go Sony, as always, toward what has kept you on top for this long already: individuality.

its obvious sony is leaving it up to u how u see gaming, just like how playstation always has a wide variety of games.

WTF are they thinking over there? I really think they should have steered clear of the Nazi-esque reference because I can just see the Anti Defamation League coming down on them for this. Am I the only one foreseeing Sony on the List of Bad Ideas for 2008?

I think that the pics are like the video game characters are paying tribute to the gamers who help them go through sh1t in the game by making "trophies". i think its pretty creative.
