The latest issue of US publication Electronic Gaming Monthly has unveiled the first official details and screenshot of Capcom’s highly anticipated fighter, Street Fighter 4.
Due out next year on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game will feature a new selection of fighting techniques, in addition to all-new locations, characters and gameplay mechanics. Fans of the series will be pleased to learn that the title will also incorporate the classic six-button control layout and 2D fighting system of its predecessors.

In terms of characters, Capcom would only divulge that a number of familiar faces are set to return, including Ryu (pictured above, courtesy of 1up.com), Chun-Li, Ken and Dhalsim, with the remainder of the cast still kept under wraps.
Stay tuned for more details on Street Fighter 4 as soon as they become available.

I LOOOOVE THIS! Love the shading! This game promise! I think that if they put in the store classics characters to buy,the can be off-story, only as an add on, the will make a lot of money.

Because Ryu is my favorite I'm happy to hear that he's in the game, even though this was obvious

Great, and i see they are bringing back some of the classic stages. Nothing beats Ryu's SF2 dojo stage (and music). That is a must have.

@ tillz
I couldn't have said it better myself.....that was my biggest concern for this. I am getting a Killer Instinct vibe from that pic though. The more I look at it, the more I am getting a bad feeling about those graphics. I will be keeping a close eye on this.

Last time they tried to go 3D the game flopped, and for good reasons, I'm glad they stuck with 2D with a hint of 3D

Talk about ugly, god why has cell shading done well at all, I'm never gonna be a fan of any game with cell shading, it looks like half-as s 3d every time. This game is dead to me now.
