New scans reveal FFXIII character name and battles

Japanese magazine V-Jump (not Famitsu!) has revealed some tasty little footnotes of information regarding Final Fantasy XIII and the red-haired girl's name. Not only that, but the magazine has dished out some images that display the in-game battle system.
While this may sound like insignificant information, it's always nice to be let in on more details revolving around a title that has yet to release anything concrete outside of cutscene trailers. Our red-haired mystery girl goes by the name, Oerba Dia Vanille. Unlike code names of the past, such as Lightning and Snow, this gives us an actual name to put to a face.

why are you ppl so mad at square? the director of versus is constantly insisting that versus will be exclusive to ps3 so that's lucky for us plus playstation gets ff agito xiii, ff7 crisis core, dissidia ff, & kh birth by sleep for psp AND FFXIII LOOKS AWESOME. 360 gets star ocean and sum other stuff that doesn't seem nearly as good as the games playstation gets. lighten up and enjoy ffxiii

@5 yeah i know i should relax on the multiplatform stuff and FF but even though i vent on here about it im about 90% sure im gonna stfu and by it anyway but i've been gaming since 1991 i think i should be able to be a gamer.

People are angry at Square because they're trying to "expand into the Western market". They think the best way to do that is to suck M$'s dlck. If it wasn't for Nomura, Versus XIII would be going multi plat as well. They're basically turning their back on Japan simply because North America is a larger land mass, hence, more overall people. Maybe if they actually got back to making quality games would they get back to selling FFVII numbers. O wait...Square Enix, you haven't made a single game EVER that sold as well as FFVII (From Squaresoft)
Maybe if you got back to the basics of what makes a game good and stop trying to "westernize" bullshlt would you actually start SELLING GAMES.
BTW in-game battle there looks beautiful lol, Versus XIII still intrigues me more, though.Can't wait for both.

@ Blue Dragon,you can not blame people who do not want to play mutliplat games,they are usuaslly technically flawed and don't use the Ps3 to it's full potential.Out of all the games I bought,I enjoyed the exclsuives more anyway so I as well won't be buying anymore multi games.They are just not as good as the exclusives quality wise.

i agree with the post above but people r also mad at square cause we would of all be playing on ff13 by now if it wasnt being held up for the 360 development and thats still bang out of order to stop a game coming out for a year so 360 fans can have a game who dont need or wont this game and doesnt even make any profits on the 360 and if square cared so much for multi plat games why give the 360 exclusives.

i agree with @4 and @8 thats not the point
square betrayed us. They make 6 other games that are exclusives for a sony consle. So us ps3 owners beleve they will follow suit. So im watchin E3 then some stupid japanese guy says the game is going multi plat. So youre thinking hold up. I spend all this money on a system so i can get this game but know its on the other system. O he** no. Thats what thousands are thinking maybe even millions. (im not one of those people). So people dont wanna here there stupid excuses. Bottom line YOU BACKSTABED US. you stupiud ********************

Can I really be bothered battling through another 100+ hrs of walk - interrupt - quick battle - walk - oh - interrupt again. Possibly not ::(
One thing for sure though, I am a sucker for great cutscene footage (probably a throwback to FF7) so I'll have to get Versus at least.
