Revealed during Sony’s E3 2016 press conference last night, the Days Gone trailer teased Sony Bend’s new PS4 exclusive, third-person adventure in which players step into the role of a member of a bounty hunter.
Now that the dust has settled, more details about the game have been revealed.

Days Gone is an open-world action game that takes place after a global epidemic and transformed millions of people into feral creature. Set in the Pacific Northwest, two years after the pandemic struck, it’s a game about survival and scavenging for resources in a violent world where Freakers roam the wilderness.
You play Deacon St. John, a drifter who rides for the Mongrels MC biker gang and struggles to survive among the violence and harsh conditions.
Sony Bend says that Days Gone is a story about explores themes of “loss, love, friendship, revenge and desperation – learning that surviving isn’t living. For Deacon especially, it’s a struggle to ensure that hope never dies.”
Among the features we can expect are:
An open-world: Though the high desert of the Pacific Northwest expect a hazardous environment filled with caves, mines, cliffs and ridges. Sony says it “exemplifies truly free-form gameplay.”
Gameplay: Exploration will feature heavily, with almost every environment and object (such as cars) explorable. Combat will be different for different players as the dynamic AI enemies craft tools and weapons and will be unpredictable in combat.
Graphics: Running on Unreal Engine 4, Days Gone promises a realistic open world experience, with weather effects and a day and night cycle. The lighting is in real-time, so it reacts dynamically.
A release date for Days Gone has yet to be confirmed.
