Ninja Gaiden Sigma is "no good," says Itagaki

Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of the Ninja Gaiden franchise, has branded the PlayStation 3 title Ninja Gaiden Sigma as “no good.”
Speaking in an interview with CVG, Itagaki elaborated on his viewpoint, commenting, “Despite the fact that it's on a 'next-generation' console there's no evolution whatsoever. That was made not by me, but one of my sub-ordinates who basically tried to copy the success of Ninja Gaiden.”
When pushed on the possibility of the sequel, Ninja Gaiden II, coming to the PS3 at some point, he added, “We've announced it as an Xbox 360 exclusive, but I don't own Tecmo the company. But if that were to ever happen it would be a loss of face for everyone involved.”
Despite this, Sigma’s director, Yosuke Hayashi, has frequently voiced his optimism for developing on Sony’s latest home console, previously commenting, "I have heard much criticism of the PS3, but I am confident that Ninja Gaiden Sigma will demonstrate how powerful the PS3 really is.

No matter what it was demo of Ninja Gaiden Sigma that made me fell in love with my PS3...As for Gaiden II I'll play it on my XBox 360

Dave, you read wrong. Itagaki said the game was rubbuish but Yosuke Hayashi (sigma's director) has something positive to say.
If you read more on Itagaki makes it seem like sigma is bad because he didn't do it, and the sheer fact that a port of ninja gaiden is like ninja gaiden instead of ninja gaiden II. Yes. I will say it agin for clarification. He hats sigma because it is not like the sequel that he is working on.
The guy is somewhat looney. You gotta laugh. I can't really be offended by tis foolishness.

who cares what this guy thinks . PS: HAZE sack donkey ball i got the game today and i hate it gameplay sacks grafics sacks why do sony let the devs do this crapy games it makes our PS3 look bad i hate the people who made HAZE people dont buy HAZE get another game.

Is this guy on Crack? i bought sigma and love it, i havn't beaten it cuz its too hard for me but doesn't mean that its no good, i will go back and beat it some day. looks fantastic as an updated port. really clean. This guy needs to stop snorting the white stuff cuz he thinks he's superman or some Shiiiiiiteee.

f*** what this guy say about ninja gaiden sigma... ninja gaiden sigma was awesome...i am not even gunna buy ninja gaiden 2 360 version im just gunna wait until it comes out for ps3....gta and dmc they were exclusive but look what happen they hop over to ms....i know some point the they have to release ninja gaiden 2 for ps3...Ninja Gaiden was meant to be on ps3 not on ring of death 360

you guys should get off his nuts he is a great dev. DOA and Ninja Gaiden are great franchizes he likes perfection not half baked crap. cuz NGs was ok not great they could of started fresh and made something he thought would be mind blowing if u gave some1 a title to work wouldint u want it to be aewsome not like halo u just put the brand name on it and u sell, Im not being an tecmo fanboy but just stating the truth so dont put him out like that just because he developes for microsoft that just being like Ms fanboys who hate on MGS4

@ #20, he does not like the ps3. There is no other reason that this game cannot come to the ps3, but he doesn't want it to. Yeah, just like MGS4.

iplayonlysony, I agree. What ever the official reason for MGS4 not going to the 360, there is always the fact that MGS4 wouldn't be possible on the 360, but there is no reason that ninja gaiden wouldn't work on the ps3. He obviously just hates the ps3 which is idiotic since it is the best gaming system out there, anyone who's honest with themselves knows that.

This guy has always been a tool. I don't care if he thinks he's bashing the PS3 or not and he probably isn't. The facts are this guy has a huge ego and whatever he's working on at the time is the 'best thing ever, next to which all other things pale in comparison' according to him. Remember all his criticisms of other games including DMC4 as totally inferior, etc? This particular bit is all the more humorous as media comments from people who've seen it are saying that while it's no doubt going to be a good game so far, that it offers little over NGS in the way of gameplay evolution, etc. Mostly just more blood and gore. I'm sure he doesn't like to hear that but in all fairness, how many "evolutions" and differences can there be in a many times sequeled game of it's type? There's just so many kinds of plot, enemies, etc, that you can have. I'm sure it will be up a notch in graphics, etc, and probably be a good game if that type of game is your thing though. I'll probably give it a look-see.

Sigma was awesome; one of the best ports to PS3 ever. I really hope this makes it to the PS3 eventually.

Wow, if Hayashi is "confident that Ninja Gaiden Sigma will demonstrate how powerful the PS3 really is" then I would love to get me some of what he's been smoking. Yeah, and Super Rub a Dub really showed what the PS3 is capable of.[/sarcasm] The PS3 is an uber-beastly 2-teraflop machine. I think it can do a little better than Sigma. So on one side you've got this dillusional nut and on the other side you've got cranky, old, sexually harrassing (wiki it), Microsoft fanboy Itagaki yelling at those darn kids to get off his lawn. What a bunch of real winners they've got over there at Team Ninja. [/sarcasm (again)]
