Sony has denied reports claiming that the platform holder will be introducing downloadable PlayStation 2 games via the PlayStation Network at the E3 Media and Business Summit later this month.
The company was responding to a screenshot posted by an anonymous user on website N4G, which appeared to show the presence of PS2 games available for purchase on the PlayStation Store.
According to the post, the image was received directly from a source at Sony Europe, with further details scheduled to appear E3 in mid-July.
However, speaking to GamePro, Sony’s Patrick Seybold commented, "I’m not sure where the image came from,” adding, "At this point, we haven’t made any announcements, and there are no plans for PS2 downloadable titles on PS3."
Stay tuned.
