Atari has officially taken Ghostbusters: The Videogame under its wing, and will publish the title as part of the company’s 2009 line-up for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PC, Xbox 360, DS and Wii.

The launch of the game is being positioned to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original Ghostbusters film, with Sony marking the occasion by releasing the flick on Blu-ray, as well as making available new merchandise including toys, comics and T-shirts.

Infogrames President Phil Harrison, commented: “Ghostbusters: The Videogame is a fantastic addition to Atari’s global line-up in 2009.”

"The title has built considerable anticipation and excitement among game fans for its high quality action and all-out mayhem. There’s no more thrilling Ghostbusting experience to be had, short of building your own proton pack."

The title was originally set to be published by Sierra Entertainment.

Yes but the Wii would be great for that hand particle accellerator ghost catcher thingy, lol, and the PS3 superior graphics, yes, but the other systems lets look at them as why why NOT

First the psp and ds (all of em ds, ds, lite dsi) No No No....too small in screen size to do the nice graphic stuff

The 360 (dare i say it) grapics match the PS3 every step of the way, BUT only uses dual layer dvd how many textures can that handle ?, it like putting the ps3 gfx chip into  a PS2, the ps2 can handle nice textures but is LIMITED to dual layer.

A PS2, i wish devs would stop making games for this console, yes its a good all rounder, but devs are creating games for the 360 and portin them to PS3 and 2 and the wii so that the textures and whatnot can go onto DVD, 8 gigs (dual layer) mite of been a technoloical advance, but the PS3 way ahead, it has the same graphics and wotnot a a 360 but has a better drive ie BLUERAY 50 gigs how many textures ???????

On a new note, im gonna keep my eye on this, it looks promising, im getting this for my PS3, might get it for the Wii too, but only for that hand particle ghost catcher thingy

Lame publisher publishing a soon to be lame game.  Ten bux says this game wont get higher than a 7.5.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Ghostbusters but I can already tell its prob gonna have a bad camera and jerky controls.   This always happens, they make a game to sooth our nostologic hearts and deliver us rubbish.  It will sell for the name but it will blow.  Regardless of who's writing the story.  I hope this game prooves me wrong, I really do.
