The European PlayStation Store update was the only thing that got us through last week, as the US Store was barren due to the holidays. This week, it seems the tides have turned, as the US received a solid amount of content while Europe's store was graced by practically nothing.
The EU update is as follows:
* Folklore "Fear in the Night" add-on pack (£1.49)
* Devil May Cry 4 final trailer (free)
Pretty meager offering except for all but those rabid Folklore fans. If you've got a US account though, hold your horses, as there's a fair bit of content available in this week's latest. Besides the NFL Tour ‘09 demo and the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Japanese launch trailer, theres an insane amount of add-on game content. Extras purchasers will rejoice when they see the following available on the US Store:
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Add-on Game Content:
* Die Fantastischen Vier “Ernten Was Wir Säen” - Single Track ($2.49)
* Trust “Antisocial” - Single Track ($2.49)
* Extremoduro “So Payaso” - Single Track ($2.49)
* Warner/Reprise Track Pack ($6.25)
Rock Band Add-on Game Content:
* “Attack” – 30 Seconds to Mars ($0.99)
* “The Kill” – 30 Seconds to Mars ($0.99)
* “Dirty Little Secret” - All-American Rejects ($0.99)
* “Move Along” - All-American Rejects ($0.99)
* “Song With a Mission” – The Sounds ($0.99)
* “Limelight” – Rush ($1.99)
* “Hard to Handle” – The Black Crowes ($1.99)
* “Gimme Three Steps” – Lynyrd Skynyrd ($1.99)
Need for Speed ProStreet Add-on Game Content:
* Shelby GT500 ($1.99)
* Chevrolet Corvette Z06 ($2.49)
* Lancer Evolution ($2.49)
* BMW M3 E92 ($2.49)
* Ford GT ($2.49)
* Chevrolet Camaro Concept ($2.49)
* Dodge Viper SRT10 ($2.99)
That's all for this week. Both updates are live right now - start your downloads now!

bah, you asshats, Beggers can't be choosers and you're beggin' right now, the content is fine. As much as I hoped to see The Club demo at least regardless of how cheesey it might be, there are millions of RockBand and GH3 users out there who are going to pony up cash tonight and that's what sony needs to keep things moving smoothly in PSN land.
Most everyone here got stuff for Xmas, go play that for a week if you're so unhappy with the update.
EA continuing to rip off users by selling cars that are unlockable in the actual game if you just play it is very annoying I actually would say if there was any content I dont want to see on the store it's that.

I don't care that the update is "lame" or "doesn't have anything good", at least there is one. It could be worse, right? I also find it stupid to charge $2.50 for a car, but if you don't want to pay for it then beat the game and you'll have it. The only other thing I'm going to say is, what's up with Rock Band? They seem to be getting better songs, at least in my opinion. I think they should be putting the songs on both games. Almost forgot, I'm shocked as he** to see that PSU mentioned the updates at a decent time for once (instead of say, tomorrow, when everyone already knows about it)

@Muzikguy That would be my part, as I'm now an editor for the site that's based in the US. We often have articles already written, waiting for a UK editor to wake up and post it. Hopefully, that'll happen less now that I'm available. I'm still not a senior editor or anything, but I can get up simpler news pieces like this one so you guys will get your news faster.

Um..."eric"...considering that the UK update goes live when all you americans are out to lunch (around 5pm - 6pm GMT) you're talking out your rear end. If the EU update goes live at 5pm then the article should be live about twenty minutes later...at the most...yet this one was posted AFTER i finished work at 10, got home at 10:45 and downloaded all the stuff i wanted...all before your article was live. And it ain't about waiting for the US update to go live as well as that could be an entirely seperate post made when the US update goes live...having said that all the US content was there when i got in too so methinks you're trying to take credit for something that ain't worth it.
With regards to the updates, people...get over it...you're never going to get a slew of amazing, desirable content every single week...a heck of a lot of GH3 and Rock Band games were sold over christmas so thats the logical update, along with cars for NFS for those too lazy to play the game and unlock them...what other games have come out that could do with extra content? The only thing i'm missing is pain! and thats because it ain't been launched in the UK yet.
Seriously, XBL didn't get much of an update in the last week either, a few themes and gamer picuteres for AvP requiem and the same RB/GH3 content...
Oh and "Muzikguy" the songs aren't on both GH3 and RB becuase they're licensed by different companies...Time Warner and various other companies have signed with activision (EA?) for GH3 and others have signed with Red Octane for RB (or whoever is releasing it) it's like the blu-ray / HD-DVD split...music is licensed you can't just pick and choose what you want, you gotta pay for it...sheesh... -

@JD-82 We've been attempting to consolidate all updates into a single news story, as opposed to having separate articles on the same topic regarding the different regions. I'm not worried about taking credit for myself, but just saying that for the most part in the future we'll have these sorts of articles up faster than we used to.

if you ask me its a soild update, sure I don't pay those games but content is content. I swear with every update people get more and more picky. I say not bad for the first update after a holiday.

Well, I must say my interest in Guitar Hero has dwindled since I got a hold of Rock Band. But it is great to see games getting support, I was hoping that would happen, and I gotta say it was getting unnerving there for a while.

@JD-82 I was stating the fact that this article was posted a heck of a lot quicker than it used to. They used to not say anything about the updates until the next DAY. Also, about GH3 and RB, I was trying to make the point that Activision is the big dog here, so why don't they fork out the cash and get some better tracks? That's what I'm trying to get at. I know they're two different companies and all that bullsh**, but let's be real here. It's just like the whole thing about the guitars being compatible. They knew they'd be stepping on each other's toes.

@JD-82 (post 17) Who are you, you UK idiot, who the he!! are you to reffer to us as "You Americans" I sense some racist overtones in your sentence you better watch it fatboy.

@eric - i apologise if it seemed like i was having a go, waking up at 2am and feeling like crap isn't good for the anger management side of things. I just feel that considering the UK update usually hits before the US update a post could be made regarding it within half an hour or so and then updated as the other updates go live.
@Muzikguy - I've noticed that the articles for the update are usualy live while i'm still at work and i finish about 10pm GMT so the posts have usually been not to bad although of late they have slowed down and it's more the forum that the news hits. As I said above, i feel that one article posted when the first update hits and then updates as the worldwide store updates go live. With regards to the rb/gh3 thing, lets face it, music companies are as bad as game companies and movie companies...they only care about contracts and money and if they have a contract to provide one company with exclusive content then they aren't gonna break that...it sucks but it's fact.
@theblackmamba - I am JD...thats all you need to know...and i'm not a "uk idiot" I'm (a) Scottish and (b) i'm fairly intelligent...my degree would seem to agree with that. On top of this, i simply said you Americans...i didn't mean it in a derogatory manner or a racist manner and trust me I'm good at railing on people...i meant it in a direct manner...clearly you have some racial issues that you need to work out though if you jump to that kind of conclusion. Oh, and as a final point, you, as an American...one of citizens of the most obese country on the planet, have the audacity to call someone else a fatboy...hilarious.

@JD No one questioned your intelligence bozo, I was merely responding to your "you americans" comment. And if you have to use this forum to inform everyone that you have a degree of some sort than you truly are and idiot. The "intelligent" person would have no need to mention that, oh that's right, you said you were "fairly intelligent" that explains it . And one more thing , what are the Scottish known for? Terrible whisky, the IRA and men in skirts i'm impressed.
